The Walking Dead (Official Thread)

I always thought that FTWD should have spent more time (like literally at least two full seasons) on the collapse of society and maybe had some character in a position (govt or military) to view things through a more macro prism. Instead, it went full Walking Dead Lite after 3 or 4 episodes and then just spiraled into mediocrity and worse.

That was exactly my beef on the show. That was the component missing in TWD, so the first few episodes were fantastic. But they botched it from that point on really. Just became another TWD, except with way worse acting and zero plot, in a different part of the country. Really a bummer because the show started off with a ton of promise, then quickly went to shit. I just cancelled DirecTV and with that, I will most certainly not watch any more of that garbage.

I didn't see any of what they aired earlier this year after it piled up on the DVR which subsequently crashed. So, yeah....I think I'm done with this show. Or gonna miss it.

I always say/think that I won't watch and then wind up chasing the sunk-costs of however many seasons have gone before. Upcoming season whatever it is will likely be no different.
Yeah I watched it, it was...meh. I get that it’s a setup show, but they don’t have much time to set up before Rick (E5) and Maggie (E6) leave, so my guess is they will enter the midbreak in a clusterfuck as usual

Watched at lunch yesterday. They did an interesting job of CGI-ing the interior/exterior of the Georgia State Capitol into a natural history museum and Atlanta into DC. I was also reminded of just how little tolerance I have for Brett Butler. Someone should cut out her tongue so I don't have to hear that skin flaying accent.

So basically, outside of Maggie (who is leaving), female characters have been reduced to either forgotten (Rosita, Tara, Enid) or fuckdolls. I had high hopes that this show would not devolve like ER into a Pair-up fest, but low and behold, “there’s a guy character, he’s not getting fucked yet, who do we have left?”
