It appears we’re going to get the final showdown...should be an interesting 3 weeks upcoming. I’ll admit these episodes have at least been good enough to get my attention

I think the first few episodes have been decent. Gotta admit I am losing interest in the show pretty quickly, just not quite enough to stop watching. Apparently there are just 2 episodes with Rick left, so it could be entertaining.

I have to say, if you don’t view this season over the rampaging suck of the last two and a half seasons, this year has been pretty good, you can tell Gimple and his CGI/Walker Effects Whore mentality is gone. Given the chance, some of the acting has been much better. Of course, it’s just in time for the most important character to leave.

From the preview of the next episode, it looks like the bridge apparently. Not sure how he gets off the spike obviously.
Well, that episode was absolutely fantastic imo. As mentioned above, bummer it is coming with a main character exit. Sets up for what should be a very good next episode (knock on wood). If they would get rid of the Jaddis/Father Gabriel arch (or Jaddis in general), then the episode was damn near perfect.

Errrr OK. I guess we know where they’re going from here. Will be really interesting to see the ratings after Ricks exit.

Dumbest fucking thing ever. Apparently Rick isn't completely off the show...good troll job I guess, but I'm not hanging around to see if he comes back. Seriously pissed about that episode. Not using a spoiler because it isn't worth it.

He is 100% off the show, however if you stuck around and watched Talking Dead they had Scott Gimple (he sucks) on the show and he explained what is next.
They are going to continue Rick's story through AMC Movies that will pick up his story from the chopper and follow him to wherever it is he is being taken. Sounds like Andrew Lincoln just didn't want to spend 8 months out of the year in Georgia filming so this way they can film him in England or elsewhere for shorter period of times to accommodate his life without killing him off and I am okay with it. Mostly, I am okay with it because I like that they ended with a 6 year time jump and basically are launching a whole new story.

Yeah, I mean I get that. He should have fucking died, of course, but he has a 3 movie deal to tell his story in parallel. I guess hopefully for them they don’t make as much of a mess of it as the X Files movies did...it’s hard to do movies while the show is still going.
the good news is that Jadis/Anne appears to be gone with him. Also the time jump is going to be interesting, but if they turn Judith into 9 YO Rambo the show will be deader than fried chicken. The Whisperers are going to be make it or break it I think...if they fuck it up like they did the Saviors, the show is doomed. It will also be interesting to see how they write Maggie off with the time jump...she won’t die either, but they have to come up with a reason for her to leave.

Well I guess I need to watch the Talking Dead, I wasn't aware they had an actual plan in place, although it seemed apparent there was a TBD on how it ended up for Rick. I still am pissed off that they parade the whole "last episodes of Rick Grimes" and do what they did. The time jump does add a level of intrigue but completely agree with the analysis above...the new group better be good. And if they don't kill Maggie off, I will be over the show I think...not because I don't like her, but because apparently they cannot kill any character of importance anymore. A large premise of the show is that anything can happen at any moment in a zombie apocalypse and at this point after "All Out War", that feels like a giant facade.

I think you’re going to be disappointed, I think they will keep her alive in case the actress’s new show bombs and she wants to go back.

Probably will be the case, but I just don't see them needing to leave the door open like they needed to keep Rick's character going in some capacity. Sure, Maggie is an important character in the show but not to the level of Rick Grimes imo.
