This is FUNNY....N.Dame Students having a rally Tuesday

You don't win, what was it 8 straight? with no talent... his team shit itself and hasn't wiped it's ass yet...

I don't think you could blame ND for firing him, but at the same time you can understand if they keep him for another year or so.

Willingham is 21-15 (.583) in his three seasons at Notre Dame, yet he was only 44-36-1 (.549) in his seven years at Stanford. He's also beaten Michigan two out of three years, which is pretty big since Michigan leads the all-time series 13-18-1. I don't think he's done that bad a job there.

Yes, but comparing Stanford to Notre Dame in expectations is hard to do... Stanford isn't expected to win National Championships, and while ND hasn't done that for a while(1988) they still expect their team to dominate like they always did.

You have to think about it this way, if Ty Willingham came here and had a 58.3% record would we keep him around? Or would you think he should stick around a couple more years?

I assume that stat is 13-12-1. You can't fire Ty, he's just starting to instill his players and Quinn could be a star eventually. They did beat UM, and UT this year.. what's to complain about?
Well.. the fact that the only people he can compare himself in terms of coaching records happen to have been fired for being as bad as he is right now...

They hired Ty before the 2002 season and ND was setting the world on fire. Went 8-0 before getting beat at home by BC, ruining what was a good BCS run. Since that 8-0 start, ND has gone 14-15 under Willingham. Those are not acceptable numbers by anyone's standards.

If he loses the bowl he is gone, if he wins the bowl, he still might be gone. I was really surprised they didn't pull the trigger after the USC ass beating. You never know though, Notre Dame might show some class itself by giving a classy guy a couple more years.

My guess is that they know that Urban has an "out" for them in his contract, and they wont let him get away.

Well, they were all clamoring to fire Bob Davie, and I think he was 21-16 in his last few years, and Willingham is 21-15, so it doesn't seem like there's a whole heck of a lot of progress being made to me.
