It was a good week for Ohio State to have a stinker. USC went down to Stanford. Ole Miss beat Alabama. TCU found themselves in a dog fight with SMU but pulled away late. M*ch*g*n State thoroughly dominated their matchup with Air Force, even if the final score didn't reflect it. Teams that struggled or played like crap like the Buckeyes, Florida State and Clemson got reprieves... for now.
So if everybody was losing (or coming close to it,) who were the winners?

So if everybody was losing (or coming close to it,) who were the winners?
- Ole Miss - Easily the most impressive win of the year by any team. They're worthy of a spot in the top four for now on that basis alone.
- LSU - Everybody seems to be catching on to the fact that Auburn sucks, but it was an impressively dominant performance nonetheless
- Notre Dame - Got through a tough matchup in the first game after losing their starting QB.

- The only thing missing was a trombone player getting obliterated in the end zone:
- This is how Texas lost. It's one of the worst PATs I've ever seen. The angle on it was so wide that if it were taken from NFL distance it may have missed by the full width of another set of uprights:

- The noon games all sucked. It was the surest sign yet that college football season is truly in full swing now. You spend eight months of the year dying for a fix, and then you have moments like the three hours this afternoon where you're surrounded by games and a nap seems like the best option.
- How bad is Cal's defense to let Texas score, like, at all?
- Leonard Fournette is your new Heisman frontrunner. He was devastating against Auburn, and he was lucky to play against them before the last of their preseason hype wore off.
