Those with OLED TVs...

Researching the Magic!
Has anyone here who has had an OLED TV for 1+yrs noticed any kind of image retention/burn-in related to score boxes, tickers, and channel logos yet? I'm planning on finally upgrading to a 4K TV when we move into our house next year and have narrowed it down to the 65" Sony X90J or A80J (LCD and OLED respectively, or the equivalent models for next year), but given my fall Saturday viewing habits - preferably watching games from noon into PAC12 After Dark - I'm a little paranoid about potential burn-in issues. I know there's a lot of features that are included to reduce the severity and occurrence, but hearing positive news from others with similar viewing habits would make me feel better about going for the slightly more expensive and better image of the OLED.

I bought my first in March of 2020 and haven't had any issues with image retention on box scores and tickers lasting longer than a few seconds when switching to commercials. I leave on the pixel shifting and logo dimming features on the TV and haven't seen any noticeable impact on the picture. In fact, I've enjoyed that 65" OLED so much, that just a couple weeks ago we got a second 83" OLED. It's better than watching at a theater to be honest and now with games on YouTube TV in 4K, my Saturdays are pretty much parked in front of that TV.

I have has an OLED LG C9 since March of last year. I haven't noticed any but I watch less shows with logos then I did in my youngeryears where I would leave it on a channel for hours straight. Now the longest I watch things with Logos is football? Also Youtube 4k football is nice. Though ESPN only seems to broadcast 1 game a week in it while fox is 3 -4.

NBC isn't even showed the Notre Dame/USC game in 4k they seem to do mostly Soccer 4k lame.

I have an 83” A90J. It’s an EVO panel with heat sink, so no burn in risk whatsoever. This year’s LG G2 model will also use an EVO panel with heat sink, so will also have no burn in risk. They’ll have a 97” G2 model this year, so I plan on grabbing one. Any of the older models prior to the evolution of the EVO panel will have significant burn in risk.

Specifically, to the selections you’ve mentioned, avoid any non mini-LED sets like the X90J. This is the first year Sony is introducing mini-LED technology. X95k is mini-LED the model number released by Sony at CES. Last year, Samsung’s QN90A used mini-LED technology and was the highest rated set in its class. I also have an 85” QN90A. Not as good as my A90J, but a solid offering.
