Thread of What You've Eaten, Cooked and/or Drunk Lately

https://arstechnica.com/science/201...nt-make-the-cut-disproving-well-known-legend/

Quick note on what knives not to use. Shout out to Kent St. This is important work they're doing.
I could see KSU getting an Ig Nobel Prize nomination for this effort.

He and his colleague, Michelle Bebber, decided to use their own feces for the experiments, rather than foisting the burden on some lowly graduate student.
...
"It's funny, because we've got this amazing lab," said Eren, but for that week, "I'm not in the lab—I'm in my house pooping in a bag, making knives out of my own feces. It was sort of depressing."

There was an arcade on High and Norwich back in the mid 80s I used to go to. Must have been 86, as that's when I would have been able to drive there. Think it was called "Touchdown" but I may have that wrong. I think there was another place across the street, more towards Lane, and below the Burger King that was there then as well.

Twice in grade school (60s) we made field trips to the Cleveland Arcade. Obviously no video games but I'm pretty sure there wasn't even pinball. In fact i'm not real sure why in two different years our class piled into a bus and went there. There must have been some significance that failed to imprint on me.

Under the Burger King was TILT. My friend and I used to occasionally get kicked out of there for using sundry tricks to get free games on Tempest, Donkey Kong, Williams pinball machines ... E.g., http://www.classicarcadegaming.com/forums/index.php?topic=1317.0 (see reply #6)

The message clearly was, "kids, note how much this sucks. Learn to code!"
