Tiger Woods (Offical Thread)

My aunt and uncle live with Tiger down in Flordia - he hired her away from a Cleveland firm to be his personal assitant

Anyways, Uncle Joe was saying at Easter that he has many other interests outside of golf and told us to look for him to be retiring sometime in the near future, as in the next couple of years
Do you think your aunt and uncle could interest him in the Spring Drive:)

First off, the guy doesn't retire until he breaks Jack's record.

Second, the guy is too much of a competitor to retire from competitive golf.

Look at Jim Brown. No one in Cleveland thought he had any intention of retiring and I am sure there are plenty of others.

I hardly believe the guy whose whole life has revolved around competition would retire that soon.

Don't buy it for a second.

I ran a search for 'Tiger Woods Kathy' & 'Tiger Woods Cleveland Kathy' and found this Thump:

It looks as though Woods and the rest of the PGA Tour will have to cope for years to come. Off the course, Woods' agency, the Cleveland-based International Management Group, has taken dramatic steps to protect its star client and provide him some semblance of privacy.

Accountant Chris Hubman monitors the money flowing in and out. Kathy Repeta serves as Woods' personal assistant, updating his daily agenda and handling his fan mail, among other duties. Bev Norwood, a 19-year IMG veteran, handles Woods' media and personal-appearance requests.

Eat a bag of dicks :tongue2:

You can get a stress fracture by pushing it too hard too fast. If your calves feel weak, its probably not a good idea to push it any further, because then all of your weight will starting bearing down on your tibia and fibula.

I've had two stress fractures from running myself. Its painful, but 6-8 weeks of pure rest will do the trick. It's the knee surgery that's keeping him out.

You raise a serious point. I ran 1400-1500 kms a year for more than twenty years. When I had my second knee operation, I saw the x-rays and it is clear that I have had stress fractures in both legs many times. Running hard down steep hills after 10 or 15 kms always seems like a great idea. You younger guys remember that you also can do your cartilage and bones some real damage. Uncle Steve19 will now get off his soapbox.

the injury apparently is real....the pain? that's what looked faked to me. it only hurt when he hit a bad shot.

I saw him wince/cringe/grimmace after several good shots. Commentators even brought up how you couldn't tell what kind of shot it was by his reaction for a while on Sunday.

I didn't see much of the Monday action.

I don't know if you have ever had knee problems or not but to put that much torque on your knee, and your knee is already damaged, is pretty impressive to me. How many athletes play with a torn ACL and no brace. I know it's not like playing hockey:)
