Tim Beck (HC Coastal Carolina)

I'm a fan of the hiring. Most important factor is staff cohesiveness, being that Beck and Warnier have successful history is great. Next his HS resume is pretty solid for recruiting purposes, has to have contacts still... and walking in with an OSU logo on your shirt vs Nebraska, is a huge difference. Coaching in Texas, Miami area and Scottsdale... all talent rich areas. And finally what he accomplished at Nebraska with his QB's, certainly nothing terrible.
Staff Cohesiveness ..I think the Withers/Fickell issue has made UFM make this a priority when hiring.

If he was able to walk into those talent rich areas and get kids to go to Lincoln, NE, I'm smiling thinking of the kids he could get to Columbus. His HS career was one big plus for me as he was in some major talented areas. And I don't remember the last AZ guy we've gotten, and they're churning out some stars lately

I'm not "wild" about this hire because of his history of QB development at Nebraska. (people wanted Herman's head for perceived play calling failures and we've seen how that turned out)
That being said. Warinner knows him very well and recommended him and that counts for a lot.
And Nebraska's offense was very good with him there.
And he has recruited Texas very well.
More pluses than minuses.

Scene: first day on the job, at his first staff meeting.

Urb: Welcome back everyone! One hell of a ride last season. I expect you all to go out there and make it happen again. Before we get into the first order of business, recruiting, I want to introduce you to our newest member of the coaching staff. Tim is taking over as co-oc and QB coach. He'll have the job of figuring out what the fuck we're going to do with QB1 A,B and C... Good luck with that...
