Tim Duncan gets ejected (worst call of the year?)

OSU_Buckguy;812945; said:
granted, the call was absurd, but there have been numerous good bench technicals. the officials also have the responsibility of making sure that the benches do not overstep their boundaries.

maybe crawford saw duncan laughing and in the process of laughing duncan leaned forward enough to cross the boundary and with a white surrender towel protecting his head he saw it as a false act to enter his territory from lands away so he felt the inner need to banish him to the gallows in order to avoid underlying acts of treachery.

i mean i am just trying to think of the most reasonable explanation for the matter.

NEW YORK (AP) -- In a decision sure to be criticized by fans of the NBA, the league has taken punitive action against NBA All-Star Tim Duncan and veteran NBA official Joey Crawford.

Duncan, a three time NBA Finals MVP, has been suspended for five games, a decision that will impact the playoff fortunes of the San Antonio Spurs. A fine of $100,000 will also be assessed of Duncan.

Duncan was penalized for his ejection from Sunday's game against the Dallas Mavericks, as well as comments made after the game in which he accused Crawford of having a vendetta against him, an allegation Crawford denied.

In a statement released by the league, his failure to leave the court area in a timely manner, as well as gestures and comments he made while doing so, contributed to the length of the suspension.

Crawford, one of the most recognizeable referees in league history, has been suspended for the duration of the regular season and upcoming playoffs. Audio and video recordings of the incident obtained by the league office did not accurately reflect statements Crawford made to league officials.

His comments during the game were also noted for being confrontational in nature, which drew a strong response from a league desperately trying to maintain a clean image.

Representatives for the Spurs were unavailable for comment. Crawford did not return calls Monday afternoon.
This was a joke I found on a Dallas Mavericks site.

im willing to step out on a limb and say their is more to the story. in my experience in high level basketball most ticky tack calls result from a verbal warning of a larger violation of similar sorts.

that being said the nba is in my view the worst officiated league in all of sports. including rec league third grade girls....
