The timeouts at the line are usually a mix-up when the proper audible is not clear to the QB or he has trouble relayaing the call in time. If the play clock is running down, a well coached QB will take the timeout instead of putting the offense in a hole. Timeouts in a two minute offense are great, but not necessarily imperative

fwiw.......it is not the timeouts that are the problem....it is the fact that the play
got to CK so late...soooo often....that CK had no chance to make any changes to the play.....

the problem with the play calling is that one of the smartest qb's in the history of CFB had no chance to do ANY checkdowns....zero....he was left trying to run with what he had....

edit: 21..you and i were typing and thinking the same thing....

It was not an attemp to put any words in your mouth. I mearly asking the questions because your choice of words made it unclear as to what you mean. I am not a mind reader and do not want to assume, so that is why the first thing I said was "I hope you don't mean..." Chill out Buck, the recruiting season is long way from being over ;-)

This thread was split off from the Sanchez thread in recruiting. With the number of recruits who find their way to our threads via Google (do a search for any by name and position sometime), just don't want to see those specific threads get polluted with stuff that should be in another forum.
