Toledo 13, TSUN 10 (final)

As a Big Ten fan, this is quite the somber day. I'll do my best to get through this post without losing my compsure. :sad2:

What a tough, tough loss for the Wolverines. I really feel bad for the team and the fans. I mean, to come back the way they did last week and really think they've finally turned the corner...then to play like this has got to be just heart-breaking. :(

I mean they really should have won this game. Terrible breaks on tipped passes and special teams. :) Driving all the way down the field with a chance to tie or win only to blow it. Honestly, I'm weeping for them on the inside. I really am. Toledo is not a bad team. Sure, they're 1-4 and giving up 36 points per game to everyone NOT named Michigan. But that stat really isn't indicative of the quality of opponent they are. If there's such a thing as a quality loss, this is clearly one. :slappy:

Sorry, I don't think I did a very good job of keeping my emotions in check. I promise I'll do better the next UM loses to a MAC team.

:slappy:

Chin up, boet. Don't take it so hard. The sun will rise tomorrow. We're all feeling the same sense of sadness for our TSUN fan friends. :slappy:

michigan lost to a mac team to the first time ever. eh. the thing that irked me more was i saw um players throw a bunch of cheap shots. three times i saw an olineman curb stomp somebody. cleating guys. just dirty. that bothers me. michigan has run a historically clean football team. this hiring bugs me as much as kelvin sanction to iu basketball...

Trying to figure out if Rich Rodriguez was worth if for Michigan. I imagine the UofM administration is thinking the same thing, especially with the buyout.

I pray the Wolverines do not upset Ohio State at the end of the year.

I guess bench pressing and hang cleans with Mike Barwis can't help field goal kicking.

I think rr is doing a fine job, he is problably the second or third best coach in College football, trailing only Ty and CW, I just hope the [censored] in the NFL don't steal him away from Ann Arbor (the whore) before he has had a chance to continue the magic he is laying the groundwork for this season. This team will be flat out scary next season, what with all the returning talent, another year under Barwis and all of the super star slot recievers he is recruiting, we better get them now.

The ESPN "Holy Toledo" headline brings back memories of 2000, when State Penn lost to Toledo.

This is absolutely wonderful. I don't really care about how Michigan's loss hurts the way the conference looks, because I honestly don't think that the nation is going to look at it that way. Mark May won't even look at it that way.

This is scUM being a complete and total joke. Right now, they have to be the worst team in the Big Ten by far. Illinois beat the living hell out of them. Notre Dame turned them into putty. Utah beat 'em too. Now, all of those teams have winning records. But Toledo? Toledo is a 1-4 football team from the MAC. This is an embarrassment.

App. State was an upset. This game? Well, as an upset, it kinda fails. But, it's still a hoot!

I imagine a conversation between Michigan fans right now is probably going like this:
A: "Why didn't we offer more money to Les Miles?"
B: "I really wish Greg Schiano had stayed with us."
A: "Maybe we should have hired Ron English. I mean, we wouldn't be this bad."
B: "When Morgan :slappy:Trent is the bright spot of your squad, you have a problem. I mean, at least Britton Colquitt is a great punter for the Volunteers. We have nothing!"
A: "Maybe McGuffie should hurdle more. You saw the YouTube videos, didn't you? He should be awesome in this awesome spread offense. Only 105 yards against Toledo is a problem."
B: "The Big East must really be that bad. They let this offense roll on them for years."
A: "This guy lost to the Wannstache in the biggest game of his life. What did we really expect?"
B: "We should have hired one of JT's former assistants. Hiring a former assistant to Woody Hayes worked last time."
A: "Mark Dantonio was a former Tressel assistant."
B: "Yeah, but now he is at the Little Brother school."
A: "Little Brother? Come on. We can't beat 'em this year. The only reason why they may be our little brother is because we are too big, fat, and slow to do anything."
B: "You mean we are going to lose to Sparty this year?"
A: "You seem surprised"
B: "This can't be happening! I mean, John Cooper took a while to get going at Ohio State, didn't he? Maybe Rich Rod will be as good as John Cooper!"
A: "Come on, do you really think Rodriguez will win 2 games against Tressel?"
B: "...Do you want my tickets for the Northwestern game?"

How in the hell do you miss wide left when you're kicking from the right hash on the 16-yard line?
