Game Thread Toledo at tOSU, Sept. 10, Noon ET, BTN

Akron and Toledo Games Noon Starts
ESPN or ESPN2 will carry the Akron game - the first for new head coach Luke Fickell - and the Big Ten Network will broadcast the game with Toledo.
Five of Ohio State's 2011 games now have start times. Start times previously announced include:

  • The Sept. 17 Ohio State at Miami (Fla.) game - 7:30 or 8 p.m. on ABC or ESPN;
  • The Oct. 8 Ohio State at Nebraska game - 8 p.m. on ABC, ESPN or ESPN2; and
  • The Oct. 29 Ohio State vs. Wisconsin game at Ohio Stadium - 8 p.m. on ABC, ESPN or ESPN2.
No additional pre-selection of 2011 football games' start times is expected, according to the Big Ten Conference. The start times for Ohio State's other seven games will be revealed once the usual and customary six- and 12-day process kicks in starting with the games the week of Sept. 24.

I'm taking my 7 year old son to the game this Saturday! It will be his first game in the shoe and he's absolutely PUMPED! He became a huge fan last year, watching every game very closely. He might have some initial trouble without the yellow first down line across the field... but I think he'll manage! GO BUCKS!

By the way, anyone ever mess around with the babel fish website? Funny stuff. If I post this message above into the translator, convert to Japanese, then back to English, you get:

I in the game have taken this Saturday in the son of my 7 years old! As for that shoes and he will. It is that first game is absolute with the pump! He becomes last year enormous fan, looks at all games very closely. As for him without yellow 1st?I think of that crossing field, perhaps and it makes line up, but, he manages first trouble! The wooden coming stand goes!

Couldn't have expressed my feelings any better, babel fish. Bravo!

I think, our size and strength on the line will be too much for Toledo's defense. It should look just as easy for the RBs and our QBs. If our WRs play as well as they did yesterday, then the offense should just keep rolling.

But Toledo's offense is vastly more talented than Akron's. Akron had the worst offense we will see all year. Toledo has a better offense then half of the Big Ten. They have two good QBs, and even though Dantin will start, I think Owens is a much better passer. Adonis Thomas is a very solid RB. And of course there is Eric Page...the guy is a stud.

This will be a much better test for our defense than Akron was. How our defense plays will be a lot more telling of how we can expect things to go for the rest of the non-conference schedule.

We should win, just based on having more talent out there, but the gap isn't as big as it was with Akron, and just showing up won't be enough.
