Tom Herman (Head Coach FAU Owls)

http://ohiostate.247sports.com/Article/Herman-Named-Offensive-Coordinator-52402

Here is the release on the Herman hiring:

Tom Herman, the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Iowa State University the past three years, and before that an offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach for record-setting offenses at Rice University, has been named offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at The Ohio State University. Ohio State coach Urban Meyer announced the hiring today.

"Tom Herman has one of the bright young minds in college football," Meyer said. "His philosophies are very similar to those of my own. I spoke to numerous colleagues about Tom and all had great things to say about him. I enjoyed our time together during the interview process and I am excited to have him on the staff."

Herman's 2011 Iowa State offense, which he will coach Dec. 30 in the Pinstripe Bowl against Rutgers at Yankee Stadium, averages 181.2 rushing yards and 211.7 passing yards per game. The Cyclones put up 44 points in a triple-overtime win over Iowa and tallied 37 in a double-overtime upset of then-undefeated and No. 2 Oklahoma State.

Really great hire and fit I think. I was wondering about him as a possible candidate after Iowa State upset Okie State. He has been extremely
successful being an OC/QB coach and he is only going to have better tools
(Ohio State players) and better minds (Urban Meyer) assisting him in the
process.

Color me excited about this new addition to the staff!!!

I agree When I saw what he was getting out of a Frosh QB ..I wondered what he could have done with and for Braxton.

ISU fan here

Not going to lie to you guys, as an ISU fan, I am shocked that tOSU made this hire. Herman was on the hotseat at ISU up until the Okie State game. His offenses have been at the bottom of the Big 12. Pretty baffled by this. If you go to our boards, you won't find many that are sad to see him go.

No offense to you being an ISU fan, but the talent he is going to get to work with at OSU is MUCH better! We are not completely sure as to what his title is going to be (definitely QB coach and probably Co-Offensive coordinator), but this is Urban's show to run! I like the hire and GO BUCKS!!!

ISU's total offense is 55th nationally (393 ypg), with personnel far inferior to ours. By the way, our total offense is 107th nationally (320 ypg) so Herman's hiring is a clear upgrade.
