I went to Cedar Point yesterday and rode Top Thrill Dragster for the first time (it was broken every time I went last year). Holy crap, what a ride. We waited 1.5 hours in line, but it was well worth it. The acceleration at the start is unlike anything I've ever experienced, it really takes your breath away. I tried to scream, but couldn't make a sound, and hanging at the top is almost surreal. You can see for such a long way across the bay/lake, you almost forget what you're doing up there. Going down the hill (I'm not sure what the angle is- it feels like 90 degrees) is even better, I just they would send you twice. It's an incredible rush, if you've never ridden it you should give it a try.

edit: Rode in the 2nd seats- line for the first seats was pretty long, and we were a group of 4 that wanted to ride together.

Millenium Force has got to be the best roller coaster in the world. The Magnum is a great ride, but it isn't even in the same league. The first hill on Millenium is awesome, you can see a ridiculously long way at the top (for the brief moment you're up there), and then it feels like you're going straight down. The rest of the ride is so fun it should be illegal.

If you've never gone to Cedar Point, or if you've never wanted to wait 2 hours to ride either of these rides it is something you have to do. It's definitely worth it.

My buddy didn't want to wait in the 1.5 hour line earlier this year so I went on it with my brother. We only had to wait 50 minutes. As soon as I got off I called my buddy and said it was so worth it. All he did in the mean time was ride the Power Tower.

Last year I was talked into waiting for the front seats, and it was more than worth it.
Unbelievable from the front.

Millennium Force is still my fav!
the best coaster we have closest to my house is called raging bull. i dont know but i waited in line to go front row and thought it was amazing. we went on it again later on that day and sat in the very back and i thought it was as good, if not better than sitting front row. i know its not anything compared to the coasters you guys have(millennium force ect.) but its no whimpy ride either. does anyone else agree with me or am i just on crack:wink2:

Never heard of it.
I usually, especially on Millennium force, prefer the back rows...

A month or so ago I went to CP and finally got on this badboy. We waited the extra 40 mins or so for the front seat for my first time. I took my neice on it with me, she is 15, and a coaster enthusiast. It seems like it takes forever to finally shoot you off, but holy shit man.........when it launches you, you try to hold on, but it gains speed so fast... Before you know it your looking around, seeing the blue views of lake Erie surrounding you.....up a few hundred feet. You then drop down, with a twist..........and that is it. All within 15 seconds..........killer rush.

The best part is the beginning, you pick up speed so fast, totally kickass.

I prefer the front on the Force, but that's just me. Dragster is pretty awesome but I don't think compares with the force...well I don't think anything does really. Dragster is over before you know it but MF is super fast for a couple minutes...about TTD, has anyone other than me ever seen it fail to make it over the top and fall backwards? They have warnings about that happening and if it does you get a second shot over the top. Also, I was there 1 of 2 times when it got stuck at the very top. The workers rode an elevator to the top and manually pushed the train over the top...pretty amazing...I wish that would happen to me sometime or at least fall backwards

I was at CP the end of june and rode both..I agree by far TTD and MF are the two best rollercoasters in the world. It was pretty funny when we got oof the TTD we walked over to that viewing area next to the grandstands and everyone gets told when you get on the ride to keep your hands down and your head back. Well this guy in the front row tried to put his hands up on take off and his hand ended up smacking him in the face. I laughed all day about that shit there is just something funny about some dude bitch smacking himself.

We were in the car waiting for takeoff when the dragster in front of us failed to make it all the way up. It was rather impressive especially since they got to experience the takeoff twice in the same ride.

It is an unbelievable ride but it's over so quick, i'd still rather ride MF.

Those 2 rides alone are worth the admission price.

I wouldn't mind not making it over the top of the dragster like many have mentioned but a couple of weeks ago a car was stopped at the top. I think they waited 20-30 minutes before the maintanence guys got to the top and gave the car a push. I didn't witness this but read about it in the Sandusky Register (local paper).

I haven't gotten to CP since dragster but I still need to get my ass there for that.

But Millenium Force the front row is the best way to go. To be hanging for that split second at the top hill looking down and not seeing the track is unbelievable. I can swear it is an inverted drop but probable more like a straight downhill, so unbelievable. It can't be stop.

Way back in high school when Magnum came out we went on a slightly rainy day and rose Magnum about 4-5 times and one time it started raining and they stopped us at the top of the hill and we had to walk down the stairs to get out. Now that was scary going down wet metal steps.

No f*ing way! That's unbelievable. I would imagine that some people would be unable to do it with a fear of heights...well at least a fear of walking slippery steps that high up. Did you all get free passes for the future or some promo after that horrific experience?

now THAT's some scary shit...

first time i rode the MF, i got front row seats: that was the first summer, and the lines were so ridiculous that you went through a turnstile and got a ticket that said "come back at 3:30" or something... anyway, there was no front row line at that time, they just stuck you in whichever car you corresponded with... well, we were supposed to be in the 2nd row, but the chick in front of us was too scared, so they switched us... COOL! that ride is ONE BAD MOTHER... though i think i rode the Raptor six times that day...

still haven't ridden the TTD, but i read in some mag that the 10,000 Horsepower catapault that they use would launch a VW Beetle a MILE into the air... WTF!!?!?!?? that's some sick shit...

they opened a copy of the TTD in Jersey which is 460 feet high, and spirals on the way down... i wanna ride THAT one...
