Game Thread tOSU 21, TSUN 10 (Nov 21, Noon ET, ABC)

CFN

Q: Is it really Tate Forcier or bust for Michigan? The focus is on the offense, but what else is missing that requires major attention? Besides quarterback, what's the most important position battle to watch for this spring?

A:
By Tom Beaver of GoBlueWolverine.com - No, it's not that cut and dried when it comes to Forcier. Last year?s part-time starter will go into spring ball with a knows-the-offense advantage, but already-enrolled Freshman Tate has by far the better arm. And don't forget Denard Robinson who'll come in in June and is probably the best runner of the three. For Michigan, quarterback will quite possibly be a three-way situation for quite a while - maybe all the way through 2009.

Overall, besides the offense, the focus will be on defensive coordinator. In 2008 it was the veteran Michigan D that let the team down in their biggest games. Now the Wolverines have a new coordinator in former Syracuse headman Greg Robinson, who has defensive coordinator experience both at Texas and in the pros. The 2009 U-M defense will be far younger than the '08 unit, but has to be far better for the team to improve overall.

Real fans watch every game no matter how ugly it could get.

Guess I'm not a real fan. I only support one college in all athletics and have ever since I was a little boy. I don't have 10 colleges I root for....I only have one. I have made a few trips up to Ann Arbor to watch them play even though I currently live in the south. I gave up alot for a ticket to attend the 2003 game against Ohio St. Michigan could go 12-0 or 0-12 and I would still love that program more than anything. I'll be a Wolverine fan until the day I die and I will never root for anybody else.

Yeah.....I'm not a real fan or that loyal. Go figure.

Did you enjoy watching last's year game? Maybe Michigan will be more competitive but I am having my doubts with RR. Maybe he is the reason I'm getting frustrated. I didn't pay attention when a few players transfered. Several have transfered over the past year and that has caught my attention. His recruiting tactics are weird. I hope he can turn it around in the next 2 years and prove me wrong.

For the record, I'm in Zwem's corner. If we were 3-9 last season under new head coach Rich Rodriguez, I'd be contemplating far worse than just simply foregoing the game.
