Big Ten Countdown: No. 11 Indiana

By Tony Gerdeman

Predicted Finish
2-10 (0-8)

Two-Cent Overview
Head Coach Bill Lynch has installed the Pistol offense and permanently uninstalled quarterback Kellen Lewis from the team. Without Lewis, there may not be any dynamic players on offense. However, the Hoosiers do return the nation?s leading career sack duo in defensive ends Greg Middleton and Jammie Kirlew, but need to stop the bleeding in the interior in order to help out a busy, yet semi-capable back seven.

Third shut-out in a row. You heard it here first folks!
I seriously doubt that. Indiana's offense is pretty decent. That said, I think we hold them to single digits...low teens at worst.

For those wondering, that would be the first time since 1973. And no, that by itself would not put this defense into THAT discussion.
Giving up more points to Navy and USC than the '73 defense gave up the entire 1973 regular season (45 points vs 43 points) already takes this defense out of the discussion.

Still, this is the frst season with multiple shutouts since 1996 (also the last time with consecutive shutouts...had three total shutouts that year).

The lines on this game are running between 16 and 17.5 points.

I haven't decided whether to put v$ on it this week, but I would be surprised if the Buckeyes did not cover that given decent weather.

Then again, they didn't have any problem covering in a monsoon yesterday.
