Re: nike’s
I talked to a guy who’s on Nike’s payrolls to run marathons on their team... I asked him what he wears.. he said pegasus for practice and 4% for races... said the nike’s are built for speed (i’m assuming like 6min mile or under speed). if you aren’t gonna go fast nike’s suck

I ran more than 30,000 kms in Nike Pegasus shoes. The last five years, they have been very poor quality and I have dumped them. Even the most brand loyal customers will eventually go elsewhere and that is what I did.

I had the original Pegs back in the '80s. Loved them. Got two new pair a couple of years ago and was completely disappointed as well. Both quality and comfort were marginal.

Have had Asics and been very happy with them in terms of performance but not longevity. They were a lot like a summer performance tire on my car... never got the mileage out of them as I expected.

Since my fall and multiple knee surgeries, I'm stuck on the cycle or in the pool. Asics Gel Cumulus is the closest I have found to the feel of the 80s Air Pegasus, but then, I'm just walking. :sniff:

Not a huge fan of the shoes they released this year, I have a pair of the ones from a few years back. Go to gameday shoes

Where is the Diamond Quest gear?? Get on it! I need another to match my ‘14 Sugar Bowl Zeke 200 yard march through the heart of the south jersey!! I think that’s what it’s called, anyway.

I noticed that Nike has put gold tabs on the back collar of some NCAA basketball jerseys to mimic NBA jerseys of teams with NBA championships. Only they are just doing it for schools that won the NCAA title when they were the official apparel provider. I read that no titles before 1997 factor in to these gold tab additions. I guess they had to find another way to promote Duke.

Nike Being Probed by SEC on Illicit-Payment Claim, Jury Told

Nike Inc. is being investigated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission over claims it made illicit payments to elite youth basketball players, according to a lawyer for Micheal Avenatti, who is on trial for allegedly trying to extort millions of dollars from the company.

Defense attorney Howard Srebnick disclosed the probe for the first time in his opening statement to a jury in Manhattan on Wednesday. He said the Justice Department, which started an earlier investigation of Nike and competitor Adidas AG, handed over evidence to the SEC. A former Nike lawyer later confirmed the investigation in court testimony.

Avenatti, a celebrity lawyer, was charged last year with trying to extort as much as $25 million from the company during March 2019 settlement talks in which he was representing a California coach who claimed Nike made improper payments to his players.

Just sayin': Nike is presumed innocent until proven guilty; however, it is hard to believe that Adidas would be the only shoe company doing it.
