Game Thread tOSU at Illinois, Oct 15th, 3:30 ET, ABC/EPSN

I see the lights just went on in columbus:

"Kenny Guiton has been the third-string quarterback, but it is expected that he will get more reps in practice."

AFT

Packin' up the cooler and the grill. BB73, where you at?

Aj Jenkins is the truth..we need to shut him down..and if our lb's.star, and safeties don't tackle Scheelhause. will run all over us. On O maybe break out the Shot Ginn with Hall in the slot and power O with Herron and Hyde and keep Miller healthy I can't take many more rainbows to the front row..my Illini friends said they are bringing our Hard-Hats in case we bring on the relief pitcher..

I'm sure this will be unpopular, but I hope that Herron doesn't significantly cut into Hyde's carries. Hyde has been a workhorse on O and for him to get his carries cut because one of the tat 5 is back is just wrong IMO. Hyde deserves the opportunity to be the featured back.

Hyde should get the start and get the bulk of the carries. Anything else sends yet another wrong message in a season chock full of them.

It only took half the season for the offensive staff and head coach to realize what most of us knew since the Toledo game. Geez.

I think OSU has 2 of the 3 components in place to be a good football team. With special teams, Basil has starting knocking them through. Kick coverage has been good and returns have been really good. The defense has been stout, excepting the first qtr at Miami and this past week's fiasco. They didn't respond on the quick change with Braxton's fumble and I think the air went out of them (like it did all us fans) when Miller was laying there in pain, and then we saw that the coaches were hell bent on choosing known ineffectiveness over a glimmer of hope. The D spent 1 1/2 qtrs on the field and couldn't turn the mo back to the good guys. With Braxton, they did some nice things on the offensive side, but there just isn't enough consistency with that aspect of the team.

Against the Illini, I'm hoping for a reasonably healthy Miller, and if that's not the case, I must see Kenny Guiton on the field. IMO, if it's not Guiton, we are choosing to do nothing on offense - and last time I checked, you generally need to have some drives and score some points to win a football game.

Agree somewhat generally, and then I don't, depending on particulars.

a) Hyde has been a workhorse and deserves the opportunity to be the featured back;

b) Boom got his own damned self into this mess;

b) Understand your position re: tat5 and respect; but respectfully disagree with respect to at least Boom; by all accounts, Boom has more than paid back - both in terms of extra benefits and in terms of continued contributions to the team (player coach; scout team work; coaching the young guys up);

c) Guy deserves a second chance (and about time he gets it);

Adds up to Hyde, Boom, and Hall in this backfield.

Anyone who thinks Boom is a bad person, please raise your hand. Didn't think so. He's paid his dues; let him play.

Illinois had better go ahead an prepare their anuses. :lol: I would love to see that jailbreak screen pass to Stoneburner used at least 6 times in the game. Illinois won't be able to stop Stoney, just get him the ball!
