Game Thread tOSU at Illinois, Oct 15th, 3:30 ET, ABC/EPSN

Why would you be in a hurry to reward a player whose actions a) led to the firing of the coach -- well, granted, he didn't do himself any favors either, but... b) caused a season to be forfeited c) caused a Michigan win to be forfeited d) alledgedly went back out and repeated actions that brought about a,b,c.

Let him earn his way back onto the field the way Hyde and Hall have, by making the most out of the opportunites they've been given.

The only thing that concerns me with Illinois, is that they have a pass rush. Nebraska had no pass rush whatsoever, so Miller had time to look downfield before tucking and running. He didn't have time to do that against Michigan State, and he got sacked.

Hopefully his feel of the game has improved, and his escapability isn't hampered by the ankle injury.

Few people are more pissed at the Tat5 than I am, but Herron did the crime and he served his time. If he is our best RB now, we play him...period.

So is anyone else confident about this game assuming Miller is healthy?

I have seen us take better teams to Champaigne to face lesser Illini squads and struggle. I fully expect this one to be a battle, and I doubt Miller is close to 100% on that ankle.

Why does your reasoning not apply equally to Adams, who was promptly inserted into the starting lineup his first game back? The staff's not doing itself any favors if it treats these similar situations differently, absent some facts we don't know.

What will tOSU look like the first half Nebraska, or Toledo.MSU, Nebraka second half? IF we struggle again this week..I"M afraid the season deteriorates from here. AS a Buckeye fan I'm thinking the coaches and players are getting closer to being on the same page...tOSU 27 Fighting Illin 17. *.barring suspensions or a Miller relapse

I agree.

That said, I think we'll see multiple backs.

Absolutely. Even if Boom gets the start, we should rotate fresh backs and pound the fuck out of their DL. Remeber how hard Boom runs for his size, and with Hyde at 240 we can wear the Illini out...

Zooker is known for winning games that he should not win - underdog upsets, not winning games against teams that are struggling and that he should have a very good shot at defeating. Those games he universally tanks.

Essence of Zook says that you win on this factor alone.
