tOSU at Indiana, Oct 23rd, 7:30 PM, ABC

FanDuel starts the Buckeyes out as 11 point favorites against the Hoosiers. Of the Ohio State games on the board at the time of this post, only the pedsters get more points vs the Buckeyes. It's notable that TTUN gets fewer. That's probably the DFBIA effect.

Other games

Oregon -9
Pedsters -11.5
TTUN -10

With more returning starters than any team in the Big Ten this season, including four graded among the very best at their respective positions, the Indiana Hoosiers have their sights set on a Big Ten title coming off a momentum-building campaign.

Others around the league believe the Hoosiers are well-coached and will be a tough out as a team most have ranked inside the preseason polls.

"They absolutely overachieved last year, but consider the fact that they'd been underachieving for a long time," one anonymous coach told Athlon Sports in its 2021 preseason preview. "I think Tom Allen is the real deal. I think the culture is real. That's not put-on stuff for TV. Those kids play their asses off for him. They were a feel-good story for a lot of staffs and programs that are trying to built it slowly and not cut corners. The administration knew what they had and gave him time, and you see the results."

Tom Allen is definitely a real one. He has guys bought into the program and culture. Team seems like they will fight tooth and nail for him.

In other news, just confirmed 4 tickets for a group of us heading down to Bloomington. First Buckeye game on the books since forever (hope to get to one in the Shoe too but we’ll see).

Yes, Indiana overachieved last year. Another way to put it is they caught lightning in a bottle. It is very unlikely that happens again.

People are judging a lot of teams, Iowa State and Indiana chief among them, on their record from last year. Many of last year's records are total aberrations. I just watched the Indiana at Wisconsin game from last year, and the Badgers absolutely dominated that game and the Hoosiers got absurdly lucky. They were also lucky to be within 4 scores of Ohio State.

Tom Allen is the real deal, sure. Their defense was solid, sure. Penix is a really good qb, granted. But this team is absolutely not what people are claiming.

No way this team hangs within two scores of the Buckeyes this year. This year I expect we will see the true talent disparity between these two teams be displayed on the field for the first time in a long time.

Agreed. Someone's getting a little too big for their britches. A good ole fashioned beatdown is in order

We will find out if they are "for real" pretty much right away. 3 of their first 5 games are @ Iowa, Cincinnati and @ Ped State. They could very well already have 2-3 losses by the time we play them.
