tOSU at Maryland, November 14th, Cancelled

The "healthy players" are more than likely quarantining.

The Terrapins have had eight positive tests among players in the last week, and they paused all team-related activity.

At least the players that had "contact" with ones infected, which could be their whole team, etc. The last thing that you want is Maryland to have an infected player play against Ohio State and infect players on our team.

So far it looks like it took Cheese 2 weeks to be able to play again after their COVID-19 infections, I'm wondering if Maryland will be playing Sparty next Saturday.

You could have started the fucking season in early September — and played less games to account for time to reschedule games. But no?

I wish they had done this, but in fairness, the daily testing the Big 10 is utilizing was not available until October. The test centers were also not set up yet (the locations where they test the actual samples).

Just giving the other side of the argument....I am a little surprised with the amount of players that had Covid coming back to campus, we are seeing significant spikes. Some schools had 35+ players already test positive (upon return to school).

Unfortunately, I think we will be lucky, if we get to 5-6 games.

And the Big 10 needs to stop boxing themselves into stupid corners. Their declaration a team had to play “X” amount of games to qualify is ridiculous, when playing in a pandemic.

Should've done what the ACC did for the year, abandon divisions, and let 2 best teams (according to record, then CFP poll if needed) and call it a day. The lack of common sense is astounding.

And yes, it's time to make this thread what it is. A dildo thread.

When the ball is kicked it’s a go.

I'll go even farther and say it isn't a "go" until the 4th quarter ends with one team ahead. Not a likely scenario; but the way things are going in 2020 I'll say that this is possible:

During the game a player develops a temperature and barfs, they suspend the game (like in a lightning storm), players go to their locker room, sick player is givin the 15 minute COVID-19 antigen test, he tests positive, and the game is called.

If what the linebackers are implying is the case, could we see a rash of tap-outs leaving the Buckeyes with the fewest games played of any major team? I'm going to go out on a limb and say no; I don't really believe that. We'll see soon enough

I think the implication Maryland is bailing on this game to avoid OSU and protect recruiting, is actually garbage. OSU is "gettable" right now, and the upside of winning in this crazy season is certainly worth the downside of taking a beating most assume you'd get. It's a "no-lose" situation for Maryland.

Also, MD had 8 kids test positive for Covid with the daily test. The daily test is 90% accurate. So lets say the had 1, maybe 2, false positives.....they still had 6 others who likely confirm positive cases.

I have mixed feelings on just quarantining the guys who are confirmed positive, and reaching deep into depth. To be honest, I'd rather OSU skip the game, and avoid major infections on our own team, than just teeing the ball up, and trying to kick the shit out of them.

I'd rather be safe than sorry. And I honestly believe MD would prefer to get the crack at us (especially with what Rutgers showed) and attempt the upset. I might be convinced otherwise if it was slated for Columbus. But it's not...we were going to their house.
