tOSU at Minnesota, Thurs. Sep 2nd, 8 ET on Fox

Please do. And if you wanna grab a beer before the game, let me know. First time to Minneapolis but I've heard it's a great time.
It's a fantastic city... bring a sweater just in case though.

I went to the game 2 years ago for the opener (South Dakota State) and it was cold as hell on opening night. Maybe in the 50s or something like that. Doesnt seem so bad but trust me once that sun goes down and with the wind you'll wish you weren't in shorts and a shirt.

Buckeyes favored by 14 early. I'd take that and run like hell if I were so inclined.
I was thinking about this sort if thing this week...

The way I see this game is after 1 quarter we are all wondering how it's a tied game, after 2 we are up 7-10 and then the wheels fall off for them.

Their strength is their OL which is at best a push for them against our DL. The biggest mismatches of the game are their DL vs our OL and especially their DBs vs our WRs.

Where they could've stressed us would have been vs our back 7 but they don't really have a ton outside of Bell at WR. I think their strengths go against our strengths but their weaknesses also go against our strengths. I'm thinking 45 to 24 or something like that.

Thank you, I'll definitely pack my Buckeye sweater. Really excited to see the stadium, looks pretty cool from the games I've watched. I also love the Thursday night game setup.

As to the game itself, I am a little concerned on stopping their offense...good OL and probably the best RB in the league. I know they've lost some pieces, but they've still got some good players and being on the road at night with presumably a sold-out crowd for the season opener is going to play a factor imo, especially with a new QB. I would bet on the under currently...we have the talent to run away with a 20-30 point win without a doubt, I just see a somewhat close game with all factors considered.

Minnesota doesn't really turnout for the gophers though for some reason. I wouldn't be shocked if it's 35/65 crowd split or better for OSU.

Also yeah their offense is the concern for me too. This will be the best OL and RB we play all season and I don't think it's particularly close. They return 7 starters on the OL (5 from last year and then 2 starters which opted out of last season). We will be sick and tired of the read option with Morgan pulling the ball and hitting a slant across the middle because they don't do a ton down field.

I wouldn't be shocked if they score on their first drive or even lead nearing halftime. This is a good team that was two OT losses away from 5-2 last year and are going to be very up for the task of playing the massive underdog role. I don't see how they get enough stops to win but wouldn't be surprised at all if they covered or kept it within 1 score.
