tOSU at Penn State, Oct. 31, 7:30 ET, ABC

Bucks win 35-24 and I’ll be ecstatic. Penn State always somehow finds a way not to get smoked by us regardless of how they may look through out the year.

Last 4 games, sure
But it was just back in '15 that the Buckeyes won by 4 touchdowns

Whatever happens, I don't think we're going to be able to draw a lot of conclusions from this. If the game is close, was the PSU-IU game a first game aberration, PSU is actually really good and they played out of their minds because they're mad? Or will it have been because the Buckeyes have issues? If the game is a blow-out, is it because PSU stinks? Because PSU was salty about the IU game and let the Hoosiers beat them twice, as the saying goes? Or will it be because the Buckeyes are just that good?

Usually we can tell something about the Buckeyes after a couple of conference games, but that's usually 5 (or at least 4) games into the season. This year, we may be wondering what we've really got even after we've played the best opponent we'll face before the play-off (but we won't know they were the best until much later).

Totally agree.

Whatever you think you know from week 1 goes out the window and you are scratching your head wondering what your team is about after week 2 which will begin the tomato can portion of our schedule this year.....

All salient points. I’m just bracing myself so I don’t freak out during the game.

I think it's smart to do that since I tend to enjoy being pleasantly surprised. Also, I think it's very wise to assume PSU spent most of the time prepping for OSU and overlooked a decent Indiana team.

On O, it's the same story of a very good front 7 that will challenge Fields and the OL in pass pro and getting rid of the ball on time, but with an exploitable secondary. Hoping to see hot routes, screens, and for Fields to have a few more throw aways than hits if nothing is open. If Olave is healthy, the opportunity for a lot of chunk yardage plays is there.

The D will need to improve a lot because while they looked like crap for most of the game against Indiana, PSU can exploit a defense that struggles with misdirection and is still adapting to life without Young, Harrison, or Okudah. Browning needs to step up now. I only noticed him yesterday when he ran himself out of plays. I'm really rooting for the guy, but time is running out.

When I hear the toot-toot I think of the Holy Buckeye

When I hear the cat snarl thing I think of Penn State

Pretty easy call
Funny story with the cat sound... I played against a team in high school that also used that sound way too often and way too loud.

One of our defensive lineman could literally do the sound perfectly. I just remember the kid doing the cat sound on the field after we did good plays lol... we won big that game and it really got under the other teams skin

There is a possibility that Penn State will play like a top ten team this week. Who would be surprised to learn that they worked for months on the OSU game and laughed off Indiana until the week before? There also is the possibility that they hang with the Buckeyes in the first half and then mail it in when the game slips away.

One thing is for sure, they will see this game as their entire season.
