tOSU at Sparty, December 5th, Noon on ABC

I'll take the B1G Championship over CFP this year. Both would be great, but this is not even close to a national championship team. Not a knock on talent, but more a knock on they need 5-6 more weeks of uninterrupted practice and game reps that Alabama, Clemson, and Notre Dame have all enjoyed. Alabama will mop the floor with this team. Just sayin'.
You can't have 1 and not the other this year so this is moot. Unless you're saying you'd rather win the big ten as a 1 loss team than to skip the big ten title and get in the playoffs?

Count me in the crowd in preferring a shot at the title which may be surprising to some here considering my pessimism regarding our defense. I agree right now this is not a championship team.

However getting matched up with ND? We can beat them and then after that who knows.

I will say though I do not like our odds vs Alabama or Clemson but with some time to prepare Ryan always has good game plans. If the defense were to just quit the big plays we always have a shot with Justin Fields.

Not happening.

I’ll hold out some hope on this one. It’s probably not going to get played but there’s still a chance until they make the announcement one way or another.

COVID numbers are up everywhere. It’s not good for sports right now. Hopefully the playoff committee comes to its senses and pushes back the timeline on the playoff a bit and expands it to 8 teams. I hold out very little hope for that as college football leadership tends to be the most archaic, inflexible leadership in sports.

I wish. But yeah, the inability to adjust is astounding.

Espin wants the semi on new years so they're going to play them then. If it lets them get their dream 2 acc and 2 sec tourney all the better.

It’s a tainted title if the Big Ten is shut out due to a lack of flexibility. That’s not sour grapes. I’d feel the same way if the Bucks won a title because the SEC got shut out for reasons like this. It wouldn’t be a title. It’d be an exhibition trophy.
