Game Thread tOSU at Wiscy, Nov 17th, 3:30 ABC

Watching the game tomorrow with a great friend, a wonderful human being, and a Wisconsin Badger fan.

Believe it or not, they're the same guy!

(BTW, he'll be bringing the beer, and it won't be fucking Leinenkugel. So there.)

Watching our players go into full party mode heading into the fourth quarter of a tie game did not sit well then - and still doesn't.

Seemed to turn out okay for the guy leading the party. I'd rather have them loose and relaxed than tensed up and on edge.

If they get their asses handed to them and dance, that's the only time I have a problem.

In the second, it appeared that the Buckeyes were waiting for it to happen so they could join in... while getting their asses handed to them on the field.

IIRC, we had scored a TD in the middle of the third quarter to close it to 21-10 and were in the middle of another TD drive entering the intermission to the fourth quarter (we indeed ended up scoring a TD on that drive about four minutes into the fourth). So the OSU players were getting fired up and they did score that TD right after to close it to 21-18. If anyone was getting their asses handed to them in the third quarter, it was Wisconsin...we dominated that quarter. We just didn't follow through...

EDIT: Checked the stats for the third quarter of the 2010 game. We received the second-half kickoff and drove 77 yards in 10 plays to score a TD with 10:08 left, cutting the Wisconsin lead to 21-10. We then held Wisconsin to 23 yards in 5 plays and 3:27 of game time, forcing them to punt. We got the ball on our own 6 yard line with 06:34 in the third. We drove 94 yards to score a TD at the 11:38 mark in the fourth quarter and converted to 2-point try to cut it to 21-18. When the OSU playes we jumping around during the intermission, we were 2nd-and-2 at the Wisconsin 20 yard line on that TD drive, so momentum was totally with us...they had every right to be fired up.

So do visiting players jumping to Seven Nation Army upset you as much when they do it here?

They were simply showing it wasn't going to affect them. I think that's good.

Agreed. Although it's not really fun to see them laughing and dancing when getting hammered, but fuck it, let 'em have some fun out there. Football's a game, and they're students, not professional players.
