tOSU @ Penn State, Wed 3/4 @ 6p ET, BTN

I am just saying making the tournament isn't what it used to be...This team has underachieved according to the EXPERTS..I am satisfied with Thad and the program..I ROOT FOR THE team EVERY GAME. whether Tosu isin the NCAA or NIT it means the same. I justdon't understand why making the NCAA is so important.
That's silly.

A double digit loss to a top 8 seed will prove what? How does this prepare the team for a stronger run next year? A run through the NIT where maybe Diop and Loving getting more PT may help next year..this SR class has maxed out its performance..I am ready to move on. This does not mean I won't be rooting like heck for them in the NCAA..its just I am realistic on this teams ceiling. If they go onto week two or the final 4 I would be ecstatic..but I don't see it.

that is not what you said. You said in your post that you do not understand why making the NCAA tournament is not that important. That is just a ridiculous statement. It means a great deal if you start thinking about the future of the program and obviously by this post you are thinking someone but not quite that much. You want us to play in the NIT or maybe we should just quit playing basketball after the Big Ten tournament.. Oh hell, why even play the Big Ten tournament.. It is not that important.

Here is something interesting Ohio State has 1 top 50 win likely in the tournament and Kansas State has 7 top 50 wins likely not in the tournament.
KSU also has some really, really bad losses. Which is why kenpom has us at 15 and Kansas State at 81.

It's not really that surprising. We've pretty much held serve (Michigan loss notwithstanding), while KSU can beat anyone and lose to Little Sisters of the Poor.

Think bigger picture. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NCAA_Men's_Division_I_Tournament_bids_by_school

Do you think Kentucky gives a shit that not all of those appearances were as a 1 seed? Or do they just sell their prestige to recruits and keep adding to their legacy? If you're not trying to get to the tournament then you're doing it wrong. Saying the tourney is not important is a coping mechanism. I'm not big on coping mechanisms.
