Ozone - Crunching Numbers: Ohio State Roster Space Limited

1/14

COLUMBUS, Ohio ? With a scholarship limit of just 82 again this season, Urban Meyer and his coaching staff will have to make some tough decisions over the next few weeks leading up to National Signing Day.

Meyer and the Buckeyes would love to add two more wide receivers and at least one more offensive line to a class that is sitting at 22 right now, but they are also going to hold a spot for 5-star safety Vonn Bell until the bitter end.

Wad,

Who do you prefer, Smith or Gibson? It doesn't seem like we'd take both...

Tough call. Do you take two years of Smith or four years of Gibson? I say you take Smith and look for further upgrades in 2014.

Plus we assume that Gibson will automatically have the playbook down and will play from day one, Smith IMO has a greater opportunity to contribute from day one, while Gibson has a higher ceiling.

Should we start a thread for James Clark?
I wouldn't yet....see if he sets up a visit & go from there.

Smith would make up for the loss of quick a little more than gibson. Though id take either in a heart beat, of course. Clark looks good, and seems like another speed weapon like Jacobs and marshall but looks still raw. Not much showing of route running, but when he gets the ball in space he can make things happen. Id still take elder over clark, but its good to have options.

The Sentinel is saying that he is coming to Columbus on Friday instead of visiting Clemson. Florida is still getting a visit on Jan. 25 so they'll be tough to beat but.........

I havent seen a TGII clone yet but this video is daggone close. Same running style, same reverse field ability and same gone when he hits the burners. I like for sure.

If it's the Orlando Sentinel article from yesterday posted by MONTbigBuck in the 2013 Out-of-state players to watch thread, then it just speculated that we would be visiting this Friday instead of Clemson. He never said that he was going to, but discussed the possibility of doing so. The writer just got the impression that was the plan. If the coaches did indeed visit him at school today, we'll know more shortly, but he's definitely worth keeping an eye on as a potential visitor.
