2018 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

What I find even more interesting is that he eliminated the most desirably program in the country (based on current recruiting trends) without notifying or consulting his son.

Thanks Dad. Your future, not mine.

Exactly. With the kind of success that Ohio State has had recently, why would you want to take that option away. I despise TTUN but if my child was offered a scholarship to play football there, I'd listen. Isn't that what all parents teach their children? Listen and evaluate all options and make an informed decision?

Great job by ESPN trying to manufacture a recruiting "Win" vs OSU. Did this hard hitting journalist even ask Dad why?

Apparently not. It was great work indeed. Nothing but click bait. The title of the article should have been, Nation's Best Recruiter Still Knows No Means No and Doesn't Disrespect Wishes of Stupid Parents but I don't think that is as click baity.

CJ is class of 2017, by the way.
Confirmed. My apologies. I could've sworn that ESPN article said 2018. Went back and checked, it doesn't. Probably need new eyes.

Anyways remember that FL OL that said he wouldn't consider tOSU to Urban's face? (McDermott, I believe? Went to da U.) Sometimes it clicks, sometimes it doesn't. Moving on.

Nice play off the Supreme clothing brand. Likely won't resonate with anyone here, but certainly a cool touch for a high school kid.

'17 in the books.

Should have up to 25 available for 18.

At this stage what are the needs.
Defn need multiple OT's.
Carman is critical.

Multiple TB's/slot types.
Love to see procure Vincent though DT appears to have a nice pipeline.

Other than OT I'm not seeing any gaping holes.

Looking at depth chart:

QB (1)
RB (1-2)
WR (1-2)
TE (1)
OL (2-3)
DE (1-2)
DT (2)
LB (2-3)
CB (1-2)
S (2)
K (0)
P (0)

That leaves us at 20, with some more room for making those late pushes for elite players. I don't think they'll need a K or P, and aside from that, I would like to see someone from each position listed. I would like to think we can afford to go without a TE next season, but if an elite player is available and interested, you take him.
