2018 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Based on what we're seeing with the recruitments of a few players late in 2018, it definitely seems like we are still after a few positions in this class:

1-2 DE - Tyler Friday, Javontae Jean-Baptiste, Christopher Oats, Daniel Carson

1 OT - Nicholas Petit-Frere, Rasheed Walker, William Barnes

1 CB - Patrick Surtain, Tyson Campbell, DJ Brown

1 WR - Maurice Washington, Chris Olave, Antoine Green

Of particular interest to me is how hard the staff seems to be going after another WR at this stage of the game...

My ideal ending to this class that is not totally out of reach (if we can take 27, if not leave out JBB):

WR/RB Washington
OT NPF
OT Rasheed Walker
DE Friday
DE JBB

My predicted end of the class right now (if we can take 27, if not leave out Oats...think he is more of a LB or else you take the Ohio guy):

WR/RB Maurice Washington
OT Rasheed Walker
DE Friday
DE JBB
LB Oats

- Could also see Washington get a first look at DB here (I think he is too explosive)...we might really want another DB but I see the chances on Surtain/Campbell as close to zero as possible and I think if you can't pull off the upset on one of them, you take the best player overall in Washington, kid is just too good.

- PS: Either of those finishes would be SICK.

I know that u can never have too much talent on your roster (injuries, academics, transfers, ect....), but it seems like we continue to bring in a plethora of skill guys and we can't even find a way to get the guys we have enough touches and yet we continue to have depth issues in the trenches, especially OL. Just an observation with the recent string of new offers/newfound interest in some guys to close out this class.

agree. I mean Demario McCall is likely 3rd on depth chart this fall at HBack, and that is without consideration of Gill

seems like a tremendous talent. but in small school division. nevertheless would be shocked if if walked-on at tOSU. has offers from UC and iowa state among others. but never know.

247 composite has him as 45th ranked player in Ohio
Kid Is very talented against weak competition. Figured he's end up at UC or a MAC school. Seen him play a few times as my daughter goes to the rival. And saw him play a few conference games

Any Michigan fan who follows recruiting closely has to be sick to their stomach.

OSU is sitting down to Thanksgiving dinner eating from an extravagant buffet. Next door Michigan is eating bologna sandwiches and we just walked in and took their pumpkin pie.
And, from the sounds of it, Georgia is going to stop by to take their bologna shortly.
