2020 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

well... northern Kentucky isnt normally a hotly recruited area.
I put the "northern Kentucky " area talent up against any team in the state of Ohio. And Urban recruited the heck out of the area as well. And that same area is where out most important 2020 recruit resides, so there's that. 8D

in all honesty, Keuchly was Sam Hubbard. both were huge Safeties in HS. Tress’ staff didn’t foresee Luke maybe dropping down to LB the way Urban’s staff saw Hubbard growing into a DE. to me, they were identical players in high school. one staff saw potential and one did not. that’s not an indictment on JT or his staff. it is, however, an endorsement to Urban’s ability to go outside of the box and turn a 3 star safety into an all conference DE and an NFL draft pick.

All of that is true, but Tress also didn't recruit Cincy hard... I love the guy but he missed out on some talent in the Queen city.
And thanks for clarification @BuckeyeSoldier lol

he played Safety at X and didn't quite project as a top recruit with his speed at the position. he grew into LB.

Fair enough. Makes sense. Still a pretty weird evaluation though considering it wasn't like he was a project at the next level who only flashed in year 3. He was immediately good as a freshman linebacker and 4 years removed from high school was basically an all pro.

We have done so well in recruiting that we have no reason to complain about a miss or two. Our roster is ridiculous!
