So, now that it’s truly finalized who are you guys’ favorite three prospects?

I love what Ransom brings — centerfield who can play that single high spot; with Coombs developing him? Forget about it.

Smith-njigba is an absurd talent; as he develops physically I think he’ll be able to just bully a lot of defensive backs. I know we have a tendency to say so many freshman skill players will play but I think Jaxson brings too much to not get at least situational burn.

Cowan: he needs to be refined a bit since he tends to rely on his superior power and as a result he plays a little too high but again; the best in the country will be developing him. I’m not big on comparisons so I’m not sure what I see; I just think he’ll be a damn good player.

Nice thread...
1. Gee Scott Jr. - not the fastest, not the biggest, but noone has more heart. Also A++ off the field.
2. Kourt Williams III - has that stone cold demeanor and the hits to back it up.
3. Cody Simon - may be our most underrated recruit..but not for long.

RYAN DAY RADIO SHOW: CAMERON MARTINEZ' VERSATILITY, JUSTIN FIELDS AS A RETURNING STARTER, AND HYPE AROUND THE FRESHMAN RECEIVERS

Here's a sample of what Day had to say.

ON RECRUITING CHANGING WITH THE TRANSFER PORTAL
  • Day said the transfer portal means you have to make sure a prospect is actually a good fit for your program, you can't just convince them to sign and hope it works out.
  • "Something I've always believed in is that you treat them the same way as when you recruit them," Day said of when prospects arrive.
  • Day said you can't make promises you can't keep, or they'll end up transferring.

3 favorite signees:
Gee Scott Jr.- reminds me of Anquan Boldin. Not the fastest, but strong and can overpower DBs. He is also a great student of the game and Can become a #1 WR or be every bit as good alongside Fleming

Paris Johnson Jr.- bookend elite LTs are hard to come by, and this kid can have that spot locked down for several years.

CJ Stroud- this spot can also go to Jack Miller, as I see the starting QB as the most important position on the field to solidify. 2 elite QBs turned Clemson into a perennial top 2 team. And 1 elite QB won LSU an NC. Being able to continue the successful QB run from Fields to Stroud(or maybe Miller) will be one of the biggest challenges in Days tenure as HC.

my honorable mention would be a tie Julien Fleming and Lathan Ransom. Fleming could be what we wanted Michael Thomas to be while in college, but what New Orleans got. A dominate premier WR who can line up anywhere, over power DBs and route precise routes.
Ransom can be a great one high S in the mood of Fuller. He can lay the wood but can excel in coverage.
This class had such an amazing offensive haul that it’s hard to not focus on them over the guys on defense

Just my opinion of course, but tOSU has always had an outstanding offense. Year after year, since I can remember going to games (during Woody's years). The D existed, and was pretty stout as well, but the elite guys seemed to matriculate up North. Their D versus our O. Now, tOSU's D is equal or better than our O, and with it has come every day national acclamation. Called a 'complete' team. Add to that Tress's emphasis on special teams (aka punting), and with Meyer's continuation, tOSU has earned the reputation of 'most complete team in the nation'. (If I had a nickel for everytime I heard that this season, wow!). Ryan Day is one smart cookie, he has been given the controls to a finished product (kinda like Urban took over from Tress), and has the wits to continue tOSU's winning ways. This recruiting class exemplifies those traits. In his first season, his team finished in top 4. He truly first recruiting team finished #5. The graduates before are paving the way in the pros, and the new recruits are believing. Please continue on, and make these years the BEST years of tOSU's college football 'life'(?). Thanks to current and prior coaches, players and fans. Go Bucks!
