2021 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

I was doing a little reading on Lettermen Row and they brought up a very good point about recruiting. Since students are moving on to campus today I do not understand why recruits still cannot visit. Anyone have a good explanation:huh:
I can see the difference between an enrolled student with a HS diploma who is 17 or 18 and a HS Junior who may be as young as 15.

That said, athletes are not the only folks who would like to visit campuses. They are just out in front of a lot of other kids timing wise.

*If* they could somehow start in January it could work. Any later and you’re dealing with what Urban was referencing.

I know others have said it, but there is just no way to make it work.

You'd essentially have two "summer" camps and two seasons in the span of roughly 11 months....you can't say you made this decision for player safety and then have what amounts to teenagers and young 20's taking that much of a pounding on their body.

The spring football idea is just something to placate fans and players until it is scratched all together. You already have schools and conferences getting rid of sports until Jan of 2021 - even with COVID being hexed by Miss Cleo tonight, the scheduling of it would never work with the NFL's.

For anyone that loves our '21 recruits the Aug.14 Birminology on Letterman Row is a must view. It is 41 min.long but you could probably skip the first 10 or so as that conversation is about B10 decision. Around 18 min. in the guys..I think 10 altogether ..start to loosen up and have fun. The different personalities really come through and you can see the camaraderie already building. A good watch. Oh and by the way there may be a 'Buckeye Bash' in the works!

Not sure if this has been posted anywhere, and figured this was the best place to post. But a great interview from Birm with a number of the 2021 commits(Treyveon Henderson, Evan Pryor, Jack Sawyer, Ben Christman, Michael Hall, Marvin Harrison Jr, Sam Hart, Jordan Hancock). Its funny listening to them because you realize quickly how young they are, lol. But a lot of good points made and my heart goes out to these kids who's careers are in limbo on what their next steps will be on the field

Anyone want to edit Birm out? I can't handle his long-winded questions lol. I had to stop watching after the first question.

Ohio State has offered Florida commit Justus Boone, a 6'5 255# def. lineman. Looks like it may end up
being a trade-off of Tunmise Adeleye to Florida and Boone to Ohio St. Ratings wise the advantage seems
to be with UF. We'll have to see if that is where they end up.

I'd put this man up against any of the defensive coaches for UF:Larry-Johnson-10.3.17-1.jpg

So I'd throw the rankings out then since Boone is no slouch as a top 20 DE. I haven't seen a slew of 1st rd DL come out of UF lately
