2022 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Is Paris Johnson considered a project?

I certainly wouldn't consider him that. I'd say after NPF and Munford leave you have Paris Johnson at one tackle, Dewand Jones (I guess we have no choice that he's ready) then;

2019 class: Jacoby
2020 class: Toutant, Leroux
2021 class: Michalski

That's 4 live OT bodies plus anyone they recruit for 2022. Everyone of those guys was, I believe, a lower rated player than the OT(s) they swung and missed on in that year.

I don't get how anyone looks at that and feels overly comfortable.

No. But name me the rest of the backups since you named the outlier.
And then let me know how confident you feel in anyone not named Paris Johnson Jr at OT
Maybe go read your comment again. If you knew there was an “outlier” you shouldn’t have said there’s nothing but projects after Munford and NPF.

With that said...I’m not a huge fan of Stud. But 5 of the top 9 Offensive Linemen that Ohio State has ever landed has been during his time at Ohio State.

NPF
Paris Johnson
Donovan Jackson
Wyatt Davis
Harry Miller

I’d say landing 5 of the school’s 9 five star OL all time (in the recruiting ranking era) is pretty darn good.

No one can question his performance on the interior OL recruiting. likewise with his lack of performance at the OT position.

Both things can be true at the same time.

Yeah but that’s the point. You seem to believe Stud is dropping the ball somewhat in recruiting and yet he is landing elite guys, just on the interior as it so happens. Further, I’d say it is one recruit specifically that is even causing all this and it’s losing our guy penciled in last year to Bama. We land Latham last year and we aren’t even having this debate. Even if Goodwin was still gonna slip away. We would all be like.....eh, no biggee.
