Game Thread tOSU @ Virginia Tech, Sep 7 2015 @ 8pm ET, ESPN

I look forward to hearing O-H-I-O overtake that stupidly annoying turkey call on TV. Buckeye Nation had better do its thing and do what they did to Cal and make that stadium a sea of scarlet and gray cheering for the Bucks.

It'll be a night game MD Buckeye and I promise you one thing about this game for those of us who end up going to this game you all will be impressed with Lane Stadium. Their entrance is one of a kind and it can get very very loud there (it's sort of like a poor mans Autzen) but I don't freaking care. My buddy (big tech fan) tells me how they return basically everyone off of last years team and I'm glad they do because they will need every single one of them. I have no doubt in my mind that we will win and we will win big because of how we lost last year and how we performed. I think the OL and the 3rd down defense especially will be looking forward to this one quite a bit as they really let us down in that game.

I'm pretty sure Metallica had the same entrance, so the one of a kind statement is a bit far fetched.

Beginning of the season and home opener for a team that is supposed to be good next year? Yeah their fans won't be selling their tickets much. We'll get as many as we can, but I wouldn't expect an O-H-I-O cheer there.

Always found it funny how Big Ten fans would love to say, Indiana, SEC East Champs. But would totally work the same way for VT and B1G. It's all just fun. VT had to be rooting for us. For a 7-6 season, they did get a bowl win and had a win over the #1 team. Not a good season, but for a young team, that's still an exciting thing. I have no ill will toward VT. Still want to win, and moreso because it's a revenge game, but other than that, they are one of those teams I will root for over most.

After what Bama did to Mizzou and tOSU did to Bama, I'll say it again.

It's wishful thinking. Their fans are faithful and fill that place.

Having lived in the Blacksburg/Roanoke area over the last 7+ years plus working with a bunch of Hokie fans, I can tell you they are getting a little disillusioned with Beamer. Besides their win in Columbus last year, they have basically been a .500 program the last couple of years and are a shell of 10+ win teams of the 2000's. I think people will be surprised how many Buckeye fans show up to Blacksburg next year especially considering it is only a 5.5 hour drive down here.

Just sayin': Ohio State fans did pretty well at the Maryland game:

On Saturday, Byrd Stadium had, at minimum, 10,000 Ohio State fans in attendance. There were probably closer to 15,000 OSU fans there.

This was towards the end of the Maryland-Ohio State game. A lot of the fans remaining in this picture are OSU fans.

There are a lot of OSU alumni in the DMV (DC/Virginia/Maryland) area which is even an little closer than Columbus.
