Game Thread tOSU vs. Cincinnati, Sept 27th @ 6pm ET, BTN

Great story @BuckeyeNation27 lol. Had me laughing this morning which was greatly needed the way this week has gone.

And yes.....back to football here. If you guys want to debate religion, take it somewhere else.

Back to football. Rod Smith's fire and drive were palpable last night. Maybe this is EZE's job to lose going forward, but Smith has a very important role. He might not have the contribution that we all hoped for, but he is a very important cog none the less.
I did notice on the drive where we went for it on 4th and got stuffed...Rod had a great run on 2nd down, but didn't lower the shoulder and get the first down. It was there for the taking, but he looked like he was trying to break it for a bigger play. I see him doing that a lot. That's not the worst knock in the world that you could say for a RB. It has served him well in some games where he has come in to spell Carlos or EZ and ended up scoring because of it. But it also cost us on that drive. On third and one we got stuffed, then fourth and one we got stuffed again. It should have never been third and one. I think that might be something that keeps him behind EZ on the depth chart. Or it could just be that EZ is really really good on his own.

In Rod's defense, I think the game was out of reach by then (I forget the exact score at that point). But you are correct, he should have just gotten the 1st down and kept moving the sticks to run the clock.

It would be a greater indictment if it were on 3rd down, I think. I think on 2nd and a big lead, he's probably trying to break something. I don't blame him.

And Ezekiel is really really good.

Enjoyed my day in Columbus on Saturday for my annual once a year game with my former college roommate. Tailgated before the game with some old high school/college friends in the rv lot. After the game the plan was to catch a cab back downtown and hit a few bars. We made our way over to High St and the scenery was so nice, we proceeded to bar hop our way the over 4 miles back to our hotel on foot.
