Game Thread tOSU vs. Hawaii, 12 Sep @ 3:30p ET, BTN

Last time I will bring up tickets in this thread b/c I know I've already asked a couple times. Here is my specific choice. I can get A deck tickets on Ohio State's side for a little under $100. Or I can show up game day morning and scalp. What would you do if you were coming in from out of town and didn't really know the lay of the land?
If I'm coming in from out of town, I'd buy my tickets ahead of time. Just a preference. I don't like to show up and not get good seats.

On the note of tickets, do we know if going no 1 we would end up in the cotton or the orange bowl? They are both really far, 17 hours to miami and 15 to dallas. Would it definitely be Dallas, because I feel miami would get a better turnout? More OSU grads up and down the east coast than in Texas. Looking at tickets and you can get upper bowl on the 30 for about 250-300 at each game. Or just buy both and sell them after you find out? Did that for the Rose bowl a few years back and after they were announced the ticket price doubled so they were easy to unload.

In 2006 I bought tickets from a scalper for the Kent State game for $80 each.

I said $80!? He said Ohio State is #1 with a shrug.

I don't think you'll find much better prices than that unless you want to miss the first quarter or something.
No wonder you bought the tickets at that price. No way I'm saying no to this guy either.

I was gonna get mine at the game outside the shoe, but I like to roll in prepared and I want to head to the skull session and enjoy myself so I got 2 tix for $130 total on ebay plus $7 shipping which I think was a fair deal since you have to pay fees for ticketmaster purchases and that makes then $145 total (plus mine came with cushy seat backs and are on the end 8D)

Better safe than sorry I suppose.

Safe than sorry? You paid face value which is a great price considering season ticket holders (most of them) have to make a donation and then pay for the tickets. Even if they're faculty tickets you didn't pay a premium.

I'm guessing that's either a motivational thing or an extension of the punishment and Hubbard gets the first series.
Yeah, and I just noticed that both Marshall and Wilson are second string now and Smith is third string coming off their suspensions...no "or" involved. Urban making them work to earn back their first-string status...

Maybe you misunderstood what i meant... that prices were not guaranteed to be low gameday and having some at face is way better than rolling the dice. Not sure how that would not be taken away from what I wrote though.... or you did not read my whole post. Whatever, man.

I read his response as "don't feel like you were better safe than sorry, you got a good deal paying face".

I think it's also meant as a reward for the guys who stepped in and played well. I would be mildly surprised if Hubbard started ahead of Bosa this week, but just being listed as OR on the depth chart has to be pretty significant positive reinforcement.

Also, think of the rationale Meyer stated for starting Cardale over Barrett... If saying that the guy who missed time has to come back and take the job away is the rationale for players that get injured, it would be cruelly inconsistent to not apply the same thinking to suspensions.

I actually got a better deal than paying face, as I pointed out I did not have to pay the fees for ticketmaster if I bought that way... better safe than sorry means having them in hand and not having to search last minute.
