tOSU vs. Maryland, Wed 12/4 @ 7p ET, ESPN2

this is the best i've seen the team look since maybe '06. that's saying something.
That Duke game 2 years ago though...

This morning, while fumbling around for my underwear, I turn on Sports Center to see that Sam Thompson had 3 of the "Top 10" plays!

The best (I think it was ranked #3) was the dunk where the defender was about 8 inches above the rim, but the lob and Thompson's hands were 2 feet above the rim.

I don't know how to do it but if someone could link the Top 10 (or at least #3) that would be cool.

Good defense, most of the time.

Loving is going to be a star.

Although pleased with the result from last night, I still have some pretty major concerns about this team. Free throw shooting was abysmal again last night. Maryland killed OSU with 2nd chance points - 17 offensive rebounds allowed. As good as Williams has looked at times, he was pretty awful last night - he was abused on pick-and-roll defense, made almost no offensive contribution, and got just 1 rebound in 28 minutes.

That was the most ridiculous game I've ever seen.

I see that game and raise you with the 93-65 beatdown of Wisconsin with OSU making 14 of 15 three point attempts.

yeah, that's it. Thanks.
The second dunk is the one where the defender thinks he is in position to stop it somehow, and Thompson skies above him and slams it down anyway.

I agree with the FT assessment. Turrible.

Williams is still a work in progress, too, but his confidence has grown exponentially from last year.

I thought the team played very well against Maryland but Shannon and Q got a little sloppy at times. Our free-throw shooting really needs to improve although a lot of those missed free throws were by Trey. I do not understand how Ross misses so many free throws. I do not know if it is lack of concentration or what but it is very strange. We do have to improve our defensive rebounding but that Has to become a team effort. The only thing that I do not like about Michigan State losing last night is that we are probably going to go up in the polls and even though we have not lost a game I do not think we are that good yet.

Well, to be fair, you don't think they're that good any year this early, now do you?

Yeah, I thought about that one, but picked Duke because I never thought a blowout of magnitude proportions would happen against Duke.

But I can't disagree with the Wisky game. That was absurd. Fuck Wisky!
