tOSU vs. Michigan State, Sun 3/9 @ 4:30pm ET, CBS

Has to be the hardest season to watch in Ohio State basketball history. Naaaaaaa! The season of the Minnesota Ambush was actually more soul wrenching. It killed those guys mentally. Fck you, Musselman! You slimy bastard! A bunch of thugs. Dave Winfield was on that team. Not exactly anyone's hero except ESPN. I know Pastor Luke Witte had long buried the hatchet but it was ugly in a mentally destroying way.

Second most shameful incident in Big Ten history. The third was placing Winfield in the list of the top fifty athletes in conference history.

I hear ya Taosman, most don't realize that Winfield was on that crew, and I've never seen him as anything but a thug ever since. ....talk about a blast from the past.

aroncraft.png What makes a "Great" basketball player? Is it setting a record? Is it making the winning play in crunch time? Is it starting for 4 years? Is it being a great character? Is it being an Academic All American? Toughness?

Any win over Sparty is a good one, no matter how good or bad they are. Really liked the mental toughness the team showed when they went into their shooting slumps... just gotta knock down those free throws at a much better clip at the end of the game, 2-8 with a small lead won't cut it in the post-season. This should give them that much needed confidence boost going into the BTT.

IZzo pulls a Sanan. When he loses it's not because the other team is good. Fuck IZzo.

"If any of you guys from Ohio think this is the old smash mouth Michigan State team, you're kidding yourself," Izzo said. "We're not that team, we haven't been that team for a while. ... We're a little wimpier than we used to be."

I thought he gave Ohio State plenty of credit, in particular Craft (see the posts in Craft's thread). And he is right... besides Payne this is the softest MSU team I've watched in quite some time. When Payne is on the floor the other four watch him try to do the dirty work inside all by himself. When he's on the bench it's a free for all for the opponents' big men.

He gave Craft a ton of credit, but in his postgame he was basically crying about all the fouls being called on his team. I didn't expect that from Izzo.
