Game Thread tOSU vs. Northern Illinois, Sat 9/19 @ 3:30pm ET, ABC/ESPN2

Zeke 2014:

Navy - 12 att, 44 yards, 0 TD
VA Tech - 8 att, 32 yards, 1 TD
Kent - 7 att, 65 yards, 0 TD

Zeke 2015:

VA Tech - 11 att, 122 yards, 1 TD
Hawaii - 27 att, 101 yards, 3 TD
NIU - 23 att, 108 yards, 0 TD

He's doing better than he was last season at this point. He's get much, much more carries this year as well. I don't think Zeke is the issue. It comes down to the offensive line blocking, and more importantly the blocking done on the secondary. Also doesn't help that he's getting no chemistry with a QB from the constant changes.

I'm blowing sunshine up people's asses?

You're Goddamn right I am. This will get figured out. Best coaching staff in America, best roster in America. And when it gets figured out, and the defense gets some help...

I'm not gonna sit here and say today's game was anything but disappointing. It was. It was also a win and a game nobody is going to remember in November. This is college football.

I didn't say you were blowing sunshine up people's asses. It was a general comment on the the sun will come out tomorrow crowd. This offense has no identity and it appears no game plan the last couple of games. We'll just win on talent alone and when all else fails lets run the jet sweep. We had some great drives going today and then we just inexplicably had a bad penalty or just went away from the play calling that was working. Our QBs forced passes into bad places instead of taking what was there. We fumbled at inopportune times, which is just a lack of concentration in many cases.

Can it be fixed, absolutely. Do I trust Urban, absolutely. Do I trust Warriner and Beck...high voice Peyton...

I was just about to make a comment on how we (I mean OSU!) need to be more like DirecTV Peyton Manning. :slappy:

I see this game being waaaay too close. I hope I'm wrong as hell, but I don't see it being anywhere near the blowout everyone here is predicting...
Gonna say a quick "Told ya so", and then go watch Hawaii shit the bed against an FCS team. Still think we'll win it all, but it'll be another 14-1 national title...

You can blow sunshine up people's ass all you want and yeah we had a loss at this point last year and today we won, but bottom line is this offense is not where it should be with the talent that it possesses. Oline, play calling, QB, route running, penalties, take your pick but something is amiss here.

Pick a QB, JT is my vote, and commit to them. Get an offensive mind set and game plan for who we are playing. Quit the cute fucking calls, because they aren't working. Find the tight end and an intermediate passing game. Rolling the pocket to the right sucked ass today, can our QBs step up in the pocket and find the 4-6 yd check in the middle. And for fucks sake when you need 3-4 yds on 3rd down then run a 5 yd route, not a 2 yd route.
Another shit example of our play calling this year. Those short routes you speak of are the rub routes that we've ran 8 times every game for 3 weeks.

No joke guys the more I think about it the more im convinced our offensive staff is myself incarnated when I play xbox.

Run the same two run plays and have like 2 go to pass plays normally revolving around slants and rub routes. The difference? I roll 70-0 on average because the computer doesnt adjust. Warriner/Beck the other teams adjust and just a tip so should we.

Well.. I figure we will get more of the expect next week. Can't wait!
Unless Urban declares a starter for next week sadly I agree. We may win 38-0 again but I expect much of the same as well because right now I have no faith in who's making personnel decisions and who is calling plays.

Right now im in SHOW ME mode. Im done buying into the hype until I see execution for a game or three. The kind of execution that you know upper classes led units tend to have.

People need to relax. Meyer is the best coach in college football. He will figure this out. They'll find their identity offensively, just have faith and enjoy the ride.

Last time I checked, our defense has been outstanding.
If not for the offense the defense has only given up 6 points In three games. Because of turnover by our offense they've put 31 of the 37 points given up on our defense.

I always wondered if it was bad that our defense would talk about owning our offense all fall. Yes that was a bad sign
