Game Thread tOSU vs. Western M*ch*g*n, Sep 26 2015 @ 3:30 ET, ABC/ESPN2

I've remained silent on the QB situation. However, after 4 non conf. games, and heading into conference play next week, I will offer my opinion. I think JT should have been given at least one start if not 2. I feel the offense runs better uptempo and JT is the better QB for that.
Cardale underthrows the deep ball more often that not. Difference this year is we don't have a Devin Smith who can play the underthrown ball and go up and get it or draw the penalty in doing so. JT was the starter last year until his injury. If JT was 100 % at the beginning of August
then JT should have been the starter at the beginning of the season until beaten out by CJ. The offense just seems to be out of sync for some reason and I think the QB situation has a lot to do with it. Just my 2 cents.

PJ Fleck would kill it at Rutgers

Will most likely need a coach by season end
Comp is right compared to what he's making
High energy.. all heart coach...
perfect fit for undersized.. high energy.. all heart team

Post Game Thoughts:
Good win for the good guys
D still only giving up 12 pts a game
D gave up way too many yards on the ground today
Pic six by Deisel was dope
Kwon had a lot of tackles today
Perry had a monster game
Conley shut down his side pretty well
OL had a great game today
CJ played well but needs to remember his nickname
EE is a beast
Samuel is a special player
Thomas is Mr. Reliable
Loved seeing Marshall and Samuel getting behind the DBs today
Special teams played lights out today. Johnston should grade out a champion
Wildcat isn't working. BM needs to hold onto the ball
Fleck?????

My observations. .

1. Defense is fairly soft through the middle but I think it's because we aren't allowing our safeties to come down into the box. McMillan I think is about 10 pounds too light because he really struggles shedding blocks. Also how many times did our ends get hemmed in and then the running back went for big yards off the cut back?

2. Smaller receivers suck. We had no one that could slow braverman down but I would've liked to had seen us best him up with apple to eliminate him.

3. Zeke is a amazing player but I don't feel like I'm out of bounds saying to me he looks a step slower than he use to be. Samuel looked like a home run waiting to happen and I'd really like to see Samuel spell Zeke more often.

4. Offensive line did better. I was happy with their progress to be honest.

5. QB play. You all know I'm a JT guy but at this point we need to go forward full speed with Cardale. It'd be a error to play JT anymore this year as BiG play is starting. JT looks pretty bad to be honest and I just don't get how he can looks so bad.

6. Cardale for the most part did what I hoped he would do which is play more in control and just manage the offense. Missed 3 different deep balls to people who had steps on the DB and IMO that needs to change if we are going to repeat.

7. Play calling. Personally not a fan I thought we went deep too often (which were drive killers), we still have a tendency to stop exploiting plays when they're working such as throwing three straight times to end a drive when we marched down the field with the run game.

To their credit we didn't do the toss pass too many times which is good. We still need to get Braxton involved somehow though.

8. Their coach is a douche canoe. Like big douche. I hope they lose every remaining game

Hmm, haven't noticed this. Samuel is noticeably shiftier and faster though.

Speaking of Samuel, I feel like he should be the starting H-Back and not Miller. I love Miller, he's one of my favorite Buckeyes of all time, but they're struggling getting him the ball in the flow of the game. Plus, he's hesitating too much on the inside runs, waiting to break it instead of just going. Samuel gets North and South quicker.

Just got home from the game.
My takeaways from seeing the entire picture.

D-line was getting pushed around fairly easy today, but was a brick wall when it mattered I also noticed a lot more of the ends dropping into coverage leaving smaller linebackers to come up and get man handled

Corners had problems with their receivers most of the day. There was always someone open..

Linebackers couldn't get off of many blocks because they arent lineman.

Running game was stout when the play isn't called to the defensive favor.. seemed like the defense was in our huddle a lot of the plays.

The cute plays need to stop. They worked against VA Tech, that was about it.

Cardale played like poop.. that's the best way I can put it. I only saw 2 or 3 good throws. All of the rest were under thrown, a second and a half too late, too far infront, or behind.. I'll end it by saying that there was a wide open receiver on nearly every pass play.. I'm not talking, a good pass and the guy might catch it, I'm talking wide the fuck open. There's my 2 cents on that

Special teams were Ballin today.. other than a stupid call and a hot head, they were magnificent.

I'm off to booze now

I was yelling all day that we were leaving a linebacker on their 2nd best receiver. No wonder he had 100+ yards by half
