Trev's OSU comment during halftime of Akron vs. Marshall

JXC

17-4 since 2001
I don't know how many of you actually just saw that. But Trev was asked in the 2 minute drill. "Biggest dissapointment of the year?" And his answer...of course...was Ohio State.

Trev: They were a top 5 preseason team...their defense is now a sieve.

WHOA WHOA WHOA!!! Preseason #5??? What the hell are you talking about? You called them the most overrated team all year until they lost. Both you and Mark said they, and the Big 10, were overrated. Now that they've lost they are your biggest dissapointment and were preseason top 5? B.S. They wouldn't have been in your top 15.

And the defense is now a sive??? Maybe you could have said that 2 weeks ago...but you are a little late on saying that. The defense has stepped up the past two weeks. These haven't been the best offenses...but a sive Trev??? They have been anything but that, except against Iowa.

I know Trev likes to say things to piss people off...but saying they were preseason top 5 and that's why they are his biggest dissapointment...that's just a flat out lie. He just wants to kick Ohio State while they are down. Maybe if he didn't just watch the Iowa games he'd be a little bit more informed.

It's not just losing 3 games...it's having one of the worst offenses in the league and in team history. It's a defense that has continually choked in the clutch. It's a team that at times has played without any heart. Some of you are hilarious...you rip on Trev even when once a year he speaks the truth.

If he wants to say that Ohio State is his biggest dissapointment...then that's fine. But at least come up with facts to base your arguement on. And Ohio State is a disapointment...but that can be erased in the next three games. I'm just saying that his comment was about two weeks old. If he's gonna knock the Big 10...he's gotta pick on Purdue or Penn State. It's hard to say Penn State just because they weren't supposed to be good...but Purdue right now has to feel the most disapointment. In contrast...I think Ohio State is in one of those "most to prove" modes right now.

I agree mostly w/ Trev on this one. In Trev's defense, you left out the part where he said "top 5 or top 10." The point is that after we went into NC State and won, we all expected great things this year like the past couple of years. To then have a bye week, and still look lost against Nwestern was inexcusable. Then two weeks later we get humiliated by Iowa. To go from top 10 to unranked and hoping to make a bowl game qualifies as disappointing to me.

I disagree. tOSU can save some semblance of respect by winning out but the season is a disappointment overall. Expectations may have been too high but if we want to be considered a top tier program, that should not be a problem

I'm going to have to say if we can go 9-3 with a bowl win and scUM win...then it's not a disappointment. Plus, it would be good to have that momentum going into next year. This team wasn't built for this year...I think we all knew there would be some bumps in the road...nobody knew they'd happen back to back to back...but if you would have told me 9-3 with a win against scum and a bowl win, then I'd be okay with that. Not disappointed. I think that we have a chance to make this a season that we look back on in a postive way.

I can see that, but I was one of the people who looked at the schedule and expected greatness. Maybe spoiled over the past few years, but I can't say any 3 loss season is not a disappointment. scUM will help, but losing at NU and getting spanked by Iowa is going to sting for a bit

I've never liked Trev Alberts. Unfortunately I have to agree we've been a big time disappointment. I tried to avoid being swept up in the "maybe we can do it" hysteria but, like most of us, it was too easy for me to have unrealistic expectations. It was easy for the fans to take a loss for granted with how well Ohio State had been doing. Hopefully its out of our system. Saturday has been a lot more enjoyable knowing that I can't predict anything with this team. Let us just stick behind them and cheer them on to a bowl bid--disappointment or not.

He's right about us, but he's alittle off on the defense. The defense hasn't been great but we're 23rd in the nation so we're not horrible. I think with the next 3 wins I could look at this as a positive season. Not of course, a complete success.
