Like i’ve never seen anything like this.
huge oak trees twisted and snapped.
Lot of oaks completely uprooted.
Destruction everywhere. Very very few structures are undamaged.

this is unreal.

update:
Day 15.
i now have some water (very, very, low pressure) at my outside spigot closest to main water line feeding the town, but not quite strong enough to get up into the house.
Half the roads in the parish are closed due to the almost unfathomable amount of linemen currently working on the power grid. The amount of visible progress these dudes have made in the last 4 days is ridiculously impressive! We may get power back before the September 29th date we were given in the last update.
Cell service has improved to the point that i was able to use an iPad as a hotspot to get last night's game on my TV through the Fire Stick.

Slowly but surely we are trending back toward normal.
Insurance Adjuster due to come take a look on the 20th. I can then hopefully begin the process of fixing my house and getting it right.
Work resumes our regular schedule tomorrow.

update - Day 237,615,223

the trickle at my spigot is gone, so still no running water. costing me a small fortune in gasoline to keep house up and running on generator.

Lots of noticeable progress on poles and power lines. Them dudes are animals working sun up to sun down. Making shit happen.

Raining it’s ass off over here from Nicholas chilling over in Tejas. Tarps seem to be doing the job as they aren’t leaking that we can see.

Update

Star Date - 41153.7

Still no running water. Still no electricity, but running 95% of house on generator. Gasoline bill has got to be hitting 4 digits now.
My dogs are now full on Hunger Games. Flynn (Catahoula/Black Mouth Cur mix) busted through front door to chase and catch a Chihuahua from down the street. Looked at me with a smile, let little devil dog go, then chased and caught it again
Easily could have killed and eaten it if he wanted.

Tomorrow i hope to finish the parts of my dad’s plumbing that got destroyed.
Friday i hope to get the rest of the salvageable stuff out of my grandmother’s house.
This coming Saturday, we are cooking Jambalaya for approximately 400 people and will deliver it to each of the bayous specifically for the Linemen working those areas.

I haven’t been this exhausted since my ball playing days 15+ years ago.
I work all damn day, come home and do what i can’t at: my house, my parents house, my sister’s house, my best friend’s parent’s house until dark.
then i pass out on an inflatable mattress (because my bed was ruined in the storm).

I’m really, really hoping that this coming Sunday will be a “day of rest”.
I want to sleep until what ever time i wake up naturally. Drink a cup of coffee, and just do nothing for a day.

I am worn the fuck out. And just want this to end.

My Sophie is a black mouth cur....those are freakin awesome dogs!

I hope you get your rest and the weather lets up on you guys.

i also want to go to sleep without the sound of a damn generator.

i want to find a store that has a full shelf of food instead of scraps (which can’t complain, still tasty if cooked right).

i want to leave my. house at 6 am to go to work and have street lights lighting the way.

I want the highway i front my street to not be under 2 foot of water.

i want LSU to not suck monkey ass at football.

i’m just done with all of this shit.
