I'm with you Wolf. I saw a shameless promotion for the movie disguised as a documentary on Discovery and, even after working out, Pitt doesn't seem to fit the Achilles role. You'd want an Urlacher-type for Achilles, I would think. Artistic license, I guess. I'm pretty sure Katzenmoyer was available, though.

But I'm sure they wanted somebody who could speak in complete sentences.

Ok, I went to see it this weekend. The movie wasn't as bad as the orginal post described..at least IMHO. However, I have a problem when movies change the Classics. I understand that certain interpretations in screenplays are necessary artistic license, but to change the fate of mythological characters which have been recognized for centuries is pushing the issue. Certain characters were killed that should have survived for later mytholgical fates--likewise for some that survived the War. However, that is the Englsih teacher coming out in me. If I could get past those indiscretions, I thought the movie was a solid B-B+. Some of the goodbye scenes and love scenes were unnecessarily long and corny. Other than that, I would recommend the movie.

Has anyone ever noticed that, every team that has the trojans for a mascot, uses the wrong freakin' helmets in their emblems. USC, Troy Sate, and every other Trojan team that I've ever seen uses the Spartan helmet, for their Trojan mascots. I guess the little prick on top of the Trojan helmet doesn't look as menacing.
