ttun basketball (Juwan out, Dusty May in)

I'd be really worried about the tournament right now if I were a Wolverine fan. Livers is far too valuable to their team. Just can't afford to play good teams without him. They're going to struggle to get to and/or past the Sweet 16 with the scrub replacements they have. Certainly losing 3 of 5 down the stretch after the injury is not indicative of a team that's on the right track.

I don't think the replacements are total scrubs, though. Johns is a former T100 recruit and upperclassman and I thought he did some good things for them yesterday. More minutes for Chaundee Brown isn't necessarily terrible, either, another upperclassman former T100 (T40, even) who can hit some clutch shots for them. Good perimeter defender, too.

Seniors Smith and Brooks do a real good job running things in the backcourt and Dickinson is just so dang good for a frosh. Immense BB IQ, strong, great footwork and hands, 7 feet tall, dunno how he was not T25, it's not like he is really THAT stiff or un-athletic. Similarly it is just a joke that Wagner was outside of the T100 (#114) and the only explanation for that whatsoever is that he was in Europe. A skilled and athletic 6'10 SF. C'mon.

Livers is definitely a big loss, one of the three guys they have who could eventually be a NBA starter, and they do lose a dynamic element on both ends without him. That said, they are talented and experienced enough that they really don't have a good excuse not to make the S16, at least, unless they get dealt a particularly unfavorable 8/9.
