Yesterday, Michigan picked up two CBs for 2021 three-star (.8883 composite rating) RB Tavierre Dunlap from Del Valle, Texas. CBs were from Sam Webb and Steve Wiltfong (both confidence level 8).

Could this mean that Michigan is losing ground with high four-star (.9810 composite rating) in-state RB Donovan Edwards? Would be a real shame, if true.

COUNTER INTEL: HAFLEY FLIPS MICHIGAN LINEBACKER COMMIT, BADGER PLEDGE TO RECLASSIFY, DUCKS STILL ROLLING

HAFLEY BEATS MICHIGAN YET AGAIN

The Jeff Hafley train continues to roll right along in Chestnut Hill. Ohio State's former defensive coordinator spent his Saturday afternoon taking down Duke in what was his head coaching debut. Right around the time the game kicked off, he also got some excellent news on the trail when the Eagles officially flipped a three-star 2021 Michigan commitment.

Casey Phinney made his Wolverine pledge back in April, but his relationship with Hafley has been building over the last few months. At 6-foot-1 and 233 pounds, he's capable of playing linebacker or even more of an H-back/tight end type of role if need be. The Marshfield, Mass. native became commitment No. 21 for a Boston College class that now ranks 39th nationally.

The Eagles may be in line for some more good news when four-star guard Drew Kendall announces his decision. The nation's No. 9 guard prospect is a teammate of Phinney's and many had thought their relationship could potentially help deliver Kendall to Ann Arbor. As things stand, it's looking more and more like the in-state teammates will side with Boston College. Not a bad start to the Hafley Era, and he'll really have a chance to make a splash on Oct. 3 when the Eagles host the No. 11 Tar Heels.

they can't afford any de-commits and anymore negative recruiting pub of any sort, no matter who the player, especially in UM's new recruiting footprint.... the 2 and 3* northeasterners.

There's a pattern developing with Hairball each and every year.... Recruiting ranking tends to dip as we get deeper into the recruiting cycle, not improve.

I Love It!!!

It's rather interesting that three 2022 tight ends from the state of Georgia are now committed to Big Ten powers. Ohio State has Bennett Christian, Penn State has Holden Staes, and now Michigan is on the board with three-star Marlin Klein. He's got some nice early offers from the in-state Bulldogs and Seminoles and is rated as the No. 18 player at the position. Klein is the third member of Michigan's 2022 class.

Looks like someone was impressed with Saturday's 49-11 beatdown at the hands of Wisconsin.

It's pretty clear from my perspective that players are now choosing Michigan for reasons that have little or nothing to do with football.

Sometimes it’s difficult to say no to a world class kinesiology program.
