Could not have said it better, I try, but fail miserably. They do something stupid and I cannot help but get giddy and laugh and its over. I will try again to root for them against the Gators (it may be easier since the Gators are the scourge from the south, sorry Gatorubet:biggrin:)

The closest I've come to rooting for TSUN is against Ntre ame when I hope the stadium implodes

Yeah, I can admit that in the back of my head I will be thinking "Can't something just fall from space and take out the whole stadium?" when they are playing Florida.

Clarifying question, please...

Does hoping for a Martian deathray attack by flying saucer during the Notre Dame-TSUN game count as rooting for Michigan?

Yes.

Qualifier; which sideline is targeted first?

Irrelevant, since intelligent life would undoubtedly go for the largest target first. Since that would be Charlie Weisminster Abbey, the ND sidelines get zapped first.

"Charlie Weisminster Abbey":slappy:

On a serious note, I heard on 1460 last night the Zooker said that this is a very important bowl year for B10 prestige. Refreshing to hear someone be that brutally honest about it.

Steve,

Honestly, I'm surprised at you. You are taking this way too seriously. I think you need to take a serious look in the mirror and ask yourself if the death of millions of innocent people is worth that.

Yes, I said millions.

Do you honestly think the invading Martians would stop with just the Ntre Ame-TSUN game? Seriously, use your head. Think it through.

It is much more fitting to wish for Jax's idea of a meteor strike: One time deal, over and done with and no collateral damage.

Sometimes I wonder about you man.

Ouch, that would bring new meaning to "take one for the team"

Exactly, when the early scores from scUM struggling with App State were coming in, I initially thought "crap all the SEC fans down here will be ripping the big 10 for this, scUM better get going." But as the day went on and the comedy continued, I decided, "fuck it, I won't let anything lessen my enjoyment of this." My official stance on Michigan OOC games is, if they win fine, looks good for the confrence (or doesn't look bad), and if they lose then it's funny.

I was watching the Appie State game with a couple of fellow BP'ers. During the lulls in the action, we were coldly discussing how bad it was making the conference look and how it really wasn't a good thing when you got right down to it. But when the blocked field goal went down, we were high fiving and laughing and hollering. We simply couldn't help ourselves.

Our minds knew that it wasn't a good thing and that the conference couldn't afford the hit; but our hearts jump for joy to see the winged helmet struggle.

Let's face it, if it made sense, it wouldn't be near as much fun.

My exact experience as well. Hindsight says to have been joyous was irrational. But if enjoying the failures of our enemy is wrong, then how can we ever be right?

I bought the hat just in case I ever needed it to root on UM. Come on guys. I even got a ruby for it.

Wouldn't it be nice to see UM beat Florida? I mean it really would go a long way to shutting up the media about the conference.

I too was rooting on App St. for a while when I thought that there was no way that UM would lose, but as time went on I was thinking "Shit. This is the team that was supposed to win the Big 10 this year."

Sorry, but I'll have the Block M on during the game. I'll take it off during commercials and when the game is over (or out of hand) back in the closet it goes.

Mili, please don't poop in my mailbox. Sometimes my daughter goes out to get the mail and I don't want to risk her catching you in the act. I can't afford that kind of therapy for her.

No, really, VLloyd just puts on this headset and the Martians get a pretty find bead...
