As soon as he announced his transfer, and started to dig into film and statistics, it was pretty clear this guy was not going to be Mississippi Jesus as they crowned him to be.

Reminds me of when they tried pretending losing Terrelle Pryor wasn’t going to be that detrimental. In fact, the QB they decided to recruit instead of Pryor (because he’s better in every facet, obviously) was touted as being a much better player, would win a Heisman before Pryor. Who was the QB they were trying so desperately to hype up? I always forget his name (shame on me, right).

It’s worth remembering that if Tress hadn’t signed Pryor we’d have been looking at two years of Joe Bauserman.

It’s also worth remembering that Coach Joe Daniels was diagnosed with cancer during Troy Smiths senior year, and Tress didn’t want to dishonor him so appointed a GA videographer QB Coach in his stead. Had we had an actual QB Coach (not counting Tress himself) from 2007-2011, Boeckman, Bauserman, Pryor, and Braxton would have received far better coaching than they did.
