Wednesday night, it was reported that Murray had reached an agreement on a contract with the A’s that will not only pay him in the neighborhood of $5 million but will also allow him to play football at OU in 2018. However, the deal will reportedly only allow this one season of football before Murray will be required to turn his full attention to baseball.

Where does the money go if he plays the one year and then goes to the NFL?
I do not understand that either because I thought if you enrolled in school you had to stay for 3 years for baseball. Maybe since he is on football scholarship and will not play baseball at Oklahoma he does not have to abide by that rule but I guess your question still is valid… What about the money

Murray will be in his 4th year of college in 2018 fyi. He started at Texas A&M, transferred and sat out a yeat at OU, and was the backup QB last year.

But as for the money, I wonder if his contract has some sort of claw-back clause in the event he sticks with football and tries for the NFL next year?

Nah, he's too short in stature to be an NFL quarterback. His future is in pro baseball.
