RB J.K. "All Day" Dobbins (2017 B1G CG MVP, 2019 1st Team All-American, Los Angeles Chargers)

The reality is it's likely tOSU or tesas at this point and neither is a bad option. tOSU offers one of the best development programs and rb lineage as a support system but will be insanely competitive and he would likely get less pt. tesas would get him on field faster, he's from there, but he would be far more likely to get dinged up on the path to the nfl. Both very good schools. Texas has better looking girls
At tOSU he will most likely get the most development and be the most ready for the NFL. That's IF he gets the start for a year. More competition will force him to work harder and challenge himself. At Texas he'll start for 2-3 years when it's 'his turn'. Lower risk, lower reward.
Urban just offered a preferred walk-on to a RB, so my guess is he's expecting Dobbins or Akers.

With all the smoke in the air re: Dobbins, do you think the staff may have been a little premature on the grayshirt offer to T Sibley? I mean at the end of they day they may end up using a scholly at another position if the walk-on offer plays out. But they still could have had their two scholarship RB's if one of Dobbins or Akers goes elsewhere if they'd been a little more patient. Maybe...

Trust the staff. They've brought us this far.

Hindsight is a lovely thing... There was a very real chance not too long ago of OSU getting both Dobbins AND Akers, but Sibley was still committed and we all knew how tight numbers were. It's easy now in August to say that we should've kept Sibley, but in reality, the staff has to go after the absolute best players that are available and have real interest in tOSU.
