U.S. Men's National Soccer (Official Thread)

Yeah, that penalty was pretty weak. And I’m not sure Weah will be coming off the bench for long. Once Pulisic is back from injury, him and Weah starting on this squad has me excited. I was thoroughly impressed with Miazga and Brooks at CB, and thought Yedlin handled the right side of the defense well, considering what he was up against. I wasn’t real wild about the left back. He was getting out of position defensively, allowing the the attack to go through him. Trapp played extremely well, and thought he was the best passer on the field. I’m still not sold on Wood being the future at Striker, but I haven’t seen a whole lot of worthy options outside of him.

The team is looking promising though. Need to stay young, and just roll with it. No more of this 30-35 year old roster nonsense.
But but but DAMARCUS AT DA WINGZ BRO. I swear I thought they’d play him until he was 100

I think individual players are getting better and more talented than any point in US Soccer history, in spite of this stupid federation.

And I get these are friendlies, but while the talent and youth is there, this is just a giant mix of players being thrown out with no system and not developing as a team/system. Should maybe, probably hire a manager for these things USSF...:roll1:

Seriously, glad these kids are turning up the intensity in this rivalry. For all our American shortcomings on the soccer pitch, we always had fitness and general son-of-a-bitchness that no one wanted to deal with.

Time to get tough again now that the old guard has rightfully moved on to the country club.

As much as some of them were rightfully knocked on for their play, not one of them would shy away from an opponent. That's needed, and it is part of the team identity.

Oh, I'd line up with a Dempsey any day of the week, but the overall atmosphere around the US soccer program seemed to have gone soft lately. This 2nd half is exciting, especially considering these kids took it upon themselves, while the USSF continues to provide no direction or leadership for them.
